It ran in DC comics through the warm weather months including in the first DC comic I ever bought:

But it was of value to only certain lucky Americans living in and around New York City in the days when New York was the place to be.

Did any of you other comic fans here get to visit Palisades Park? Did any of you actually clip the coupon from a comic for your free passes? 

Me I could only envy those big city American kids because my sleepy old London town had only the Western Fair and that was for just ten days every September:

The Western Fair though compares very favourably to most American state fairs in size. Quite simply I didn't realize that I was growing up in both the best of places and the best of times. Not only were stores chock full of everything from penny bubble gum to returnable bottles of soda pop in ice water coolers to potato chips with coins free inside to scoop ice cream for even a nickel, but of course there were the comics, Mad magazines, hockey and other bubble gum cards and model kits. And best of all, there was no helicopter parenting back in those days. A kid was free to be a kid. Out you went in the mornings on non-school days to play all day returning only when it started to get dark. Once again you never know what you've got till it's gone.

I grew up down the road from you in St. Mary’s, and if we didn’t make it to the CNE in Toronto, then we went to the Western Fair.  I understand it was exactly the same rides, just shipped down HWY 401.

How and why is this only a 6.5?  I see a couple of minor spine ticks on the front cover.  On the back, near the top, it looks a little rolled.  6.5 seems really harsh, unless there is something wrong inside.

Wow!  I was about to ask why you didn’t have Galileo and K7 kits, but they were just vacationing in another cabinet.   Love those old AMT Star Trek models!  They were the gift of choice whenever my childhood friends had birthdays in the late 70s.

Does anyone know why DC was so reluctant to have Superman and Batman in the JLA or on the cover for the first 30 issues or so?

That happened to me once at the Comics Warehouse in Kitchener.

My two Toronto go tos for Silver Age back issues are not on your map.  Google Silver Snail, and Paradise Comics.  And I am happy to hear from native Torontonians if there are other good sources for Silver Age books.

Key issues like Action #1 will continue to climb in value, but I don’t think the longterm future looks good for non key issues like Action 101, 201, etc.., because there just is not a crowd of young people anymore interested in reading comics.  The last time we saw actual kids buying comics was the 80s, when the industry had big hits with Transformers, GI Joe, X-Men, New Teen Titans, etc.  I think values for common issues like Action101 will continue to gradually increase until the kids who were buying and reading comics in the 80s hit 65 and sell off their collections.  
 

So let’s say we are talking about kids who were born around 1970 to 1975.  So when they turn 65 in the interval from 2035 to 2040, I think we will see values of common back issues plummet in value, just like 1950s Westerns have already experienced.

Man, for a guy who works in Hell’s Kitchen, Daredevil runs into a lot of big cats!

I assume we will not post every cover of Zabu with Kazar.   That would just be lazy.
