  1. Not too long ago I set up modern / copper sales thread with over 1,400 CGC graded books.

Today I posted detailed listings for each book with scans of both the front and back covers.

For books with multiple copies I also posted front and back scans of the additional copies and posted them withing spoiler tags.

Hyperlinks have been updated to allow customers to jump from the index to the individual listings.

    Enjoy!

One of my favorite covers, Dr. Doom never disappoints.

I got some sketch covers at an event held by a local comic store yesterday:

First sketch is a homage to Silver Surfer v3 # 34 by Joshua James, a freelance artist who graduated from the Kubert school:

Next sketch is from C.P. Wilson III who drew Maggie from Walking Dead TV show and Heisenburg:

The last two are Darkchylde and Mr. Sinister drawn by Alexia Veldhuisen, another freelance artist from the Kubert school:

  3. Basically I think there is a regular, PF, and 2nd and 3rd prints of the PF. The census shows that. I'm just looking for someone that maybe has a PF, and also a PF that says 2nd, and a PF that says 3rd. That seems to be what the census is indicating...I remember the book coming out, but it seemed like the regular version and the PF were out around the same time. I could just be remembering things wrong; it's been a while :P

    I think you are mistaken.

The reason the first printing and the first printing (prestige format) have the same date is because they are the same book.

  4.

There are two words to keep in mind when speculating on modern comics:

    Harley Quinn

Two more words for extra credit:

    Walking Dead

You forgot another big one - Deadpool

These three titles are great to take to shows as they put you in the black at shows. (thumbs u

    It didn't fit the theme.

    Deadpool is only one word.

  5. Along this line of thought what are the traits that people feel create the perfect storm of desirability as far as speculating on new comics. Here is what I came up with:

    1. New Story/Character(s) Introduced (No reboots or established characters getting own series)

    2. Highly Regarded Writer/Creative Team

    3. Ongoing Title (Not limited)

    4. Zero or very few variants.

    5. Low Print Run.

Any others come to mind? (shrug)

  6. If you see someone using Paypal personal for the sale of merchandise and you have a problem with that by all means feel free to contact Paypal and rat them out if that makes you feel better.

With that being said, the proposed rule to strip someone of any recourse because they have committed the sin of paying with or accepting payment via Paypal personal has absolutely no merit whatsoever.

The rules, and the lists were created to protect members of this forum from unscrupulous buyers and sellers. Letting a buyer or seller off the hook for failing to honor their word because the other party has somehow wronged Paypal would only leave the rest of us open to get screwed on the next transaction.

The buyer has already been punished once by losing the ability to dispute the transaction through Paypal, stripping them of the right to nominate a bad seller for PL seems like overkill,

There is already a rule against sellers requesting Paypal personal and I think that is all that we need on these boards.

Right. It doesn't matter who else gets screwed, as long as "the board" doesn't.

That's what it's boiled down to.

But it would help to read all the comments in the discussion.

    Screwing Paypal is wrong.

I never said that it does not matter.

I even suggested a possible remedy (notifying Paypal).

What I said (rather clearly I might add) is that the other party (the one that did not screw Paypal) needs to be held accountable for there behavior here.

Creating a Paypal loophole to protect bad sellers (and buyers) hurts all of us yet does absolutely nothing to help Paypal.

I read all of the comments but nothing you can say will convince me that your proposed rule would do anything good.

  8. I have 100 Star Wars No. 1 Comics

They're all at CGC at this time for slabbing.

Anyone have any advice or comments regarding the liquidation of this hoard ?

Obviously I'm looking to capitalize on the release of the new movie coming out in December. But I dont know how to go about it without overwhelming the market with one hundred issues in fresh mint condition. Or am I overthinking it and the marketplace is big enough to absorb all of them without effecting the prices ?

What do you guys think ?

The first rule of the Star Wars comic hoard is you do not talk about the Star Wars comic hoard.

  9. I dunno about Abe - great character that was killed off way too soon imho.

It will probably come down to how long he lasts on the TV show.

Although he lasted nearly 40 issues (?) in the book - there is no guarantee he won't die in the first one or two episodes of the TV series - and in all truth, the real $ spike in #53 came when he appeared on screen.

Always regret selling my copy :cry:lol

Abe and Rosita are gone but Eugene lives on.

  10. Why not take a few days to get your sales thread in order BEFORE starting the sales thread? (shrug)

A lot of time and money went into buying / grading, etc.

Scanning, uploading, and posting 3,000 images will take more time.

Why not sell a few books while scanning the rest of them?

Also, we learn as we go.

If I put up all of those scans only to have my thread deleted twice I think I would have lost it.

Now I only have to put the scans up once.

If I had the opportunity to go back and do it over again perhaps I would have done it differently but in the last few weeks I learned some lessons and made some customers happy. So in the end it seems things will work out OK.

  11. I think all sales threads MUST have scans/pictures. We have had too many issues with threads without scans/pictures. I've got no dog in this, but sellers are just opening themselves up to issues.

The current rules require a picture and / or an accurate description including the grade of the book.

I would say that it clearly helps the seller to include pictures of the books.

After seeing the rigorous enforcement of existing rules in action I would hate to see a rule added requiring the inclusion of pictures.

In the case of low priced books (less than $2) do you really need a scan if the seller has given a rough grade?

In the case of large threads with over 100 books, do we really need to have them deleted because the seller took a few days to add pictures?

  12. Just post their name so everyone can update their personal lists. :taptaptap:

It's beyond me that after all the talk on here that people still pack their stuff sheitty. (shrug)

It takes no effort to be lazy.

I don´t know about that, some people go well out of their way to be especially lazy.
