  1. We're in completely different realities. I've lived a lot of places - coast to coast - and USPS has been great everywhere Had one package lost that was heading to me and had one package go missing in the almost 20 years I've been buying and selling comics online. FedEx has been so consistently horrible that I'm struggling to imagine where they would be useable.
  2. I just assumed they had a discount rate because of the volume they ship. Wowwww. That's even dumber than I thought. I mean, you can get a deeper discount than that just by using Pirateship. So odd.
  3. Also, Clinks shipping prices are ridiculousssssss. Have they ever justified the pricing or is it just blatant shipping profiteering? PS - FedEx sucks.
  4. Like most things that seem expensive, if I avoided the random $100-$200 books I pick up and saved instead, a big purchase would take less of a bite to my comics budget. I'm nearly done with a silly collecting focus and get to free up funds for more serious books. even low grade raw, the books I’m after are in the 2k-5k range. Expensive tastes 💅
  5. I started out buying from the gas station and grocery store and eventually moved up to only LCS’s, chasing Wizard top 10 books and general stupid 90s buying. Long since sold all those OO books. moved on to dollar bin digging and flea markets. Now I’m in the camp of being picky about what I buy and how much I pay and really only buy books to flip and then use that money to buy collections or auction house stuff for the PC. I bought a 10,000 books collection last year and kept literally 6 comics. Im making more money than I ever have and am more picky that ever before.
  6. I’m 40 and have wanted to get into golden books since my first megacon in 2008. I still regret not buying that chamber of chills 19 for $600. However I drug my feet on the books I wanted and now kinda feel priced out. There’s plenty of interest - especially in pre code horror - from all age groups. Maybe the more esoteric books will take a dip but I very much doubt the floor will fall out on them.
  7. Recognizing bias is a skill everyone would do better to learn. Read up on confirmation bias.
  8. Nice! the one I went to in mid city advertised comics and then had none when I got there ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  9. It’s not a 3rd print because there’s no blood on the T.
  10. What good are forums if you can’t arm-chair-quarterback?
  11. I’m a big cheerleader for consigning with MCS. That’s been my go to for all books over $100 for a few years now. Never sold through clink but from my buying my experience, they’re consistently getting well below GPA for the things I’m after. So add that to your equation. I’ve sold a decent amount on r/comicswap on Reddit but it’s a small amount of eyes on your stuff I absolutely hate selling on Facebook. It’s such a nightmare of the worst type of comic people. I know some people who exclusively sell there with positive results but I’m not a fan. Sold through Heritage but I never have stuff good enough to offset how high their consignment %.
  12. The banner isn't loading anymore. Double ouch.
  13. Thank you for that but it’s not really an ME, right? I mean, the book is destroyed.
  14. Mine was finally delivered yesterday. Wife caught him walking away from out door and had just left it there without a signature. Nice work, FedEx.
  15. Here’s the SS 44. Would you be stoked if you bought at this grade and THAT was the book that showed up?
  16. Got my first taste of a properrrrr CGC screw up. The Black Panther was a throw in book so it didn’t mean much to me but had it pegged as a rock solid 9.8. When it got a 9.4 with indentions I thought that was strange. Got it back and looked it over and there’s not a single indentions on this book. Howeverrrrr, the spine was pinched in the inner well during encapsulation and caused the cover to pull off the staples during shipping. Nice! The SS 44 came back and try to guess what the grade is? I’ll post it after. This book did not have these crazy waves when it went out. @CGC Mike any guidance for this?
  17. Reallly thought the others had a shot at 9.8 but happy with the 43.
  18. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ They didn’t even try to get in the building.
  19. I’m stuck in a stupid FedEx loop. Now on the 2nd attempt even though my wife is home all day. Have never had a problem with the drivers not being to get into the building and suddenly it’s a problem. @CGC Mike I know this is impossible but could you please pass along how awful FedEx is? Not having other carrier options is absurd.
  20. Had a ME that MCS sent off approaching 80 days. No idea what’s going on there.
