  1. It's not a "hobby" to dealers...it's their jobs. I agree-ish that it could hurt people who are dipping their toes in the water of collecting but I don't totally buy it. I've over payed for SO many things and all that does is make me more aware of what I'm doing and trying my damnedest to educate myself to not have it happen again. That's anecdotal but hopefully other people are also doing this if they feel like they got got. You guys have good intentions but it borders on dogma about what should and shouldn't be done with comics.
  2. The masses go to movies to escape their own lives for a few hours. These movies do that in droves. Critically acclaimed subtitle artsy movies that appear in about 25 theaters that nobody saw get the big awards. Sorry, but I'm confused. Are you saying that mass escapism movies shouldn't be good or held to the same standards as art films? Or that it's unfair that art films get awards and not summer blockbusters?
  3. Boy, am I glad I don't even understand this goop. Civil War was pretty good...even with a robotic Thor clone.
  4. Also, this book is another amazing example of things I sell about 3 months too early.
  5. THIS is the comic that makes you think we're in a bubble? Geeeeeeez.
  6. I didn't think it was water because that angle of view would be impossible. The only way for the entire back ground to be water would be if the angle of view was from up high and the horizon line would be above their heads. But, it isn't from up high because Mandarin is looking completely forward. Psy is looking slightly up but she's crouched/shorter. . I think that's the nerdiest thing I've ever written.
  7. I make fun of it but completely love it. The insides are great.
  8. It's the best cover as far as the worst representation of fog, ever.
  9. I've ordered from them a handful of times and have NEVER received "NM" copies of books. they always have what looks like pre-shipping corner dings like they dropped the books before they even shipped them.
  10. I'm gonna do another sweep of the LCS's and see if there are any DV3's left. I sold mine pretty instantly on Ebay and had more trouble selling the variants.
  11. I figure MODOK will be used eventually. Pretty much every Marvel property that was put into Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 has become pretty huge, 1st appearance wise. I knew something had to be up with who they were adding back when it was released but was too broke to do anything about it.
  12. I was stoked to get a lowly 9.4 a few years ago for $40 shipped. Shoulda kept buying them, I guess.
  13. What grade is the #1? 9.4 But the # 2's a 9.8 The single 9.4, with only a single 9.6 above it... wow. Yeah...but it's only off-white to white. Proud of my set: http://comics.www.collectors-society.com/registry/comics/PeopleSetDetail.aspx?PeopleSetID=44535
  14. That's one of those books I KNEW I should have been grabbing but didn't, for whatever reason. Oh well. Good job everyone else that did!
  15. 2001. Saturday is gonna be fun for flea market digging!
