  3. Bolded: No. You shouldn't be entitled to it. However, I would have also walked out because screw doing an LCS's job and bringing them books to price at the counter. Before digging, It's a good idea to ask how they price so save yourself the time and frustration.
  4. Wow. I've never even known about that Showcase '96 #3. I'm a scrub.
  5. This one caught me by surprise. Maybe I don't hang out in this section enough to have known better.
  6. Well this turned fun... For some reason, I kept seeing the Batman #1 and thinking it was a rebirth variant and ignoring it. Oh well. It's insane the Green Arrow #1A is already sold out.
  7. Besides the books being surprisingly decent, what're you guys doing with them? Dumping them ASAP or holding?
  8. They were $2.99. I don't know if people made runs on them or not but there were only those 2 there. It's not a location that gets picked, either. They JUST got Superman 52, which is weird.
  9. Haven't seen Rebirths but I did see newsstand WW #1 and Aquaman #1 at Books-a-Million today.
  10. , could be worse.. We could be talking about judges with foreign origins The exotic Indiana!
  11. Anyone know Lab_143? Nothing completely crazy yet, but red flags all over.
  12. Like all books I've had random hoards of (x-factor 6, secret wars 8, x-men 221), I sold wayyyyy too early. One day I'll learn patience. Not today, though.
  13. There was a guy always at our local arcade that was basically unbeatable at fighting games. There was always a line to play him at Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Mortal Kombat, Virtua Fighter, or Killer Instinct...whichever he was playing at the time. Unreal to see him smoke 30 kids in a row without losing. He could basically play with one quarter until he was ready to go home. Right, but how many quarters did it take to get to that level? Maybe not that many...Some people just "get" fighting games. For every franchise, there's a system that's understandable and as long as you can figure out risk/reward options in that system, you're gonna do just fine. Also, there's a fiercely psychological aspect to them. If you throw someone 4 times in a row, they're gonna get rattled and do something stupid that you can punish. If you can grasp those two things, the rest should fall into place through light practice.
  14. Sometimes the thrift store delivers. I had been too lazy to dig through the 10+ tubs these came from for months, thinking they had already been picked over. Turns out, a lot was left.
  15. Mike Zeck has the best sig in the bizzzzz. Great placement, too.
  16. It looks a little SFIII ish to me, so I'm hesitant to get it. Any review you'd like to share? SF3: 3S is, imo, one of the best, most competitive fighting games ever made so comparing it to SF3 would be great. It's a little clunky like SF4 was when it first came out but once you get used to the movement, it plays like alpha/sf3 in that pressure is what wins you games...especially in the corner. Right now, it's rewarding aggressive play which I like but it's an infant in the fighting game world so I'm sure it'll progress a ton. Them "dumbing" the game down was needed after the option select mess-show that SF4 became. There's still technical stuff to be done but there's no replacement for really good footsies/fundamentals. Almost the entire cast has good anti-airs so it really forces you to stay on the ground and play honest. As far as single player stuff...it's horrible. I've never seen a game release with so little to do for people who want to just play story mode or have combo challenges. BUT, if you just care about playing people (which you should...it's a fighter), it's off to a good start and should be getting better the more people explore.
  17. Who's playing Street Fighter 5 and why aren't we playing right now?
  18. That's become clear. John Donne said 'no man is an island'. Clearly, he was wrong. He was replying to Mr. Ween. But I could say that in this case the "islands" are those who insist on this concept of "first apperance", and who wants to use words arbitrarily and out of context. Roy (Beastfeast) was just giving an uncalled for harsh reply, but what he means is clear. John Donne was surely right, but unfortunately we suffer the consequences of modern philosophical thought, which he couldn’t have imagined, so blame Hegel for this lack of communication. I didn't mean it to be necessarily harsh. "How I see it" is not exactly the best phrase to use in a debate...especially one like this.
