  1. I mean for auctions in a lot of cases it's just because the buyer didn't pay for whatever reason. Many times it's probably just a case of second guessing and buyer's remorse. There wasn't enough time between listings to ship out, have it be returned, refunded, and then relisted.
  2. Secret Wars #11 Mark Jewelers (VF/NM): $40
  3. Secret Wars #10 Mark Jewelers (NM-/NM): $80 One of my all-time favorite Mike Zeck covers.
  4. Secret Wars #9 Mark Jewelers (VF/NM): $40
  5. Hey all! Here are the rules: - First 'take it' trumps all negotiations - Shipping is $6 (US buyers only, but if you are from Canada, PM me and maybe we can work something out); (+$4 extra for Priority) - Accepted forms of payment: Zelle and Venmo are preferred, by I will also accept PayPal if you can't do the others - I ship USPS Ground Advantage (Priority upon request); will ship and provide tracking within 2 days of receiving payment - Returns accepted within 2 weeks of receipt of books - No one on the naughty lists; also, I reserve the right to request kudos or not sell to someone with little or no activity/feedback - I'm still pretty new here, but feel to check out my fledgling kudos thread and attached eBay link! Other than that, feel free to reach out with any questions or to request more pictures! Thanks for looking!
  6. G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #21 Newsstand Edition (NM-): SOLD Tough one in high grade! Could probably benefit a bit from a press.
  7. Secret Wars #8 Newsstand Edition (VF/NM): SOLD
  8. Marvel Spotlight #32 (NM): SOLD via PM
  9. Iron Fist #14 (FN/VF or VF-): SOLD Note, there is a faint 1/2 inch crease on the bottom right corner of the front cover which is hard to make out in the photo. But a really, really nice presenting copy, regardless.

  11. +7 again went from undergrading everything to somehow over grading everything. Wolf Gal 4.5 (+1) Aggie Mack 7.0 (+3) don’t understand how this was three grades worse than Lois Lane… Lois Lane 7.5 (+1) Secret Life 5.5 (+1) Junie Prom 6.5 (+1) A lot of +1’s all contest gotta work on that calibration a bit
  12. Grades in! Felt better about this than round 2, which almost certainly means I'm in for a +12
  13. Thanks for the replies! Sounds like it's a simpler process than I'm making it out to be in my mind. Getting some big books back in a couple months so I'll prob try to get a policy in March.
  14. One time price drop on this lot! $120 obo. Will also consider offers for individual books (by PM), though I'd still prefer to sell as a lot. EDIT: sold via PM
  15. Can someone explain to me the 3 grade difference between Revealing Romances and Farmer’s Daughter? Not being facetious—really would like to understand, because I thought they were very close to the same grade (I’m still learning when it comes to GA and lower grade books in general).
  16. Oof 8 points. Got killed on the Revealing Romances—guess I overestimated how much that pinhole would affect the grade. 5.5 still feels high w/o though… The rest I can live with. Been under grading everything consistently by 1-2 grades though—maybe an adjustment is in order lol. Mopsy: 4.0 (only bullseye so far 🤦🏻‍♂️) Romances: 3.5 (brutal +4) Dotty: 4.5 (+1) The pedigree: 6.5 (+2) Farmers Daughter: 3.5 (+1) Here’s to five bulls in the next round 🍻
  17. I don't buy or sell Dave Stevens stuff, but I do track certain books in the market and have noticed DS covers blowing up in the last few weeks/months. 'bout time too imo--maybe it's all the J Scott Campbell fans realizing his stuff is like a 3rd grader's compared to Stevens (no offense to the JSC fans out there). Edit: I track on eBay and can confirm it's happening there as well
  18. Mostly posting this here because I’m interested in one defect and how CGC will treat it (posted about it in the Grading and Restoration forum but no one chimed in). Big issue here is obviously the small staple tears at the bottom staple. They’re between 1-2mm each, but I’m thinking it could be production-related? The staple itself feels very firmly attached. It doesn’t slip or move at all (though I didn’t try that hard lol), and the cover/spine is quite tight—it almost felt like the book hadn’t been opened. Also, I don’t think the book has been pressed (if it has, they did a really bad job since there’s still a stacking bend). So yeah, long story short, I’m curious if A.) y’all think this is indeed production related from stapling or folding; and B.) if so, how much it’ll affect the grade on CGC’s end. I am C&Ping and subbing this, so there will be a follow up. Other issues are light soiling on the FC that’ll most likely clean, a light non-CB stacking bend that I mentioned previously, and a couple non-CB spine ticks on the FC. Corners are sharp and the back spine is surprisingly clean (if you know this book, you know what I mean). Sorry for being so wordy—thanks for looking!
  19. Three Stooges for me as well. I'm thinking that puts me in the +10-20 ballpark
  20. I will say, as a seller on eBay—returning a book because you don’t agree with CGC’s grading is super annoying. Like, no part of that is on the seller. If the case had undisclosed damage, sure, but the grade itself is not on the seller. Maybe I get it if the pictures are bad, but honestly it’s kind of on the buyer to request more photos if they want to nitpick the grade. I’m more than happy to tell people a certain 9.8 I’m selling has a spine tick or bindery tear that’s hard to see in photos/scans—they won’t buy it and be disappointed and I won’t run the risk of having it go through transit twice and be unlisted for weeks. Not coming at you—I am fully a proponent of making sure the book you buy is what you want—just perhaps a word of advice for future purchases. There’s a good chance that seller will block you from future purchases, as well, so another reason to make sure you know what you are getting before you purchase.
  21. *Apologies beforehand if this is a dumb question* I started buying and re-selling books in the last year, and while I rarely have more than a handful of books on hand at any given time, I've realized how much of a hit I'd take if my books were either stolen or lost/damaged while being sent out for pressing and grading. They aren't mega books--this is more of a fun side hustle for me than anything else--but they're often expensive enough where I don't feel comfortable anymore not having insurance. So my question is this: with collectables insurance, how does that work with a rotating inventory of books/slabs? I try to make a CGC submission every month or so and am fairly regularly purchasing and reselling books, so I experience a pretty high turnover rate in my collection/inventory. Is this something collectables insurance could cover, or is it more geared toward permanent collections? Would I have to make adjustments to value on a daily/weekly basis? And for raw books, do y'all generally use Overstreet for valuation or just ballpark it? Any help/advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated! And apologies if this has been answered before--this is a super knowledgeable community so I prefer get up to date info from those who have first-hand experience. Thanks!
