  1. I believe BKV said something to the effect of he wouldn't consider selling the rights until after the story was finished. I could see this getting made one day, but probably not until after the run is over (still a long way to go, since I believe it's supposed to be around 120 issues). Maybe by then it'll be cheaper and more realistic to produce something like this, especially considering how far TV and movie production has come just in the last ten years.
  2. -G/QC 12/13 After getting stuck in GEI for a bit, looks like this is moving again. Hopefully will ship by end of the week. I will say, customer service was great when I contacted them. I didn't ask for a refund (just wanted an update since I hadn't hit TAT for Fast-Track and it was only a couple days past) but they refunded the 'grading' portion of the fast-track fees anyway and were quick to respond, transparent, and kind. Used the text chat, which is a nice option to have. I also had another order that was in SFG for like two months ship today, so maybe stuff is starting to move again?
  3. Seconded on using Pirateship. Started using them earlier this year and haven't looked back. At the very least I'd say use them for slabbed books, where the insurance may end up mattering (and less than 1% the worth of the book is fairly cheap in my mind).
  4. Looks like a good C&P candidate for an 8.5 or so. MJ's generally hold more value, but I'd venture to say the market for them is a bit niche. Definitely a cool book though! Nice find!
  5. Yeah 9.2ish. Those glossy black covers are notorious for picking up fingerprints, just a heads up
  6. I'll say 8.5--CGC tends to be pretty brutal on corner crunches from what I've seen
  7. Most likely. The rep didn’t sound terribly optimistic (just that I was ‘moving through the queue’), but I didn’t press. I’m sure they’re stressed out enough as it is. Doing a move right after NYCC and right before the holidays must be a nightmare.
  8. Lol…can you imagine if that was actually the case? CGC would have collapsed ages ago.
  9. It seems they are still backed up from the move. Encapsulation in particular appears to be super bogged down. Or so I inferred from what the rep I spoke to told me. Or maybe just Greggy…who knows?
  10. Modern is a disaster right now (compared to rest of 2023–I know it used to be far worse). They finally pushed back the expected TAT on their page to 25 days.
  11. Pretty cool is that’s the case! Probably not a unicorn, but I can’t imagine there’s a lot of these out there. Would be cool to have but it’s kind of a ratty copy and I’m not really interested in the other books in the lot. Figured I’d throw it out to any potential ASM fans though! Might look nice on display with a good C&P
  12. Ran across this on an eBay auction, and it has me a little bit stumped. Couldn't find anything on a few quick Google searches so figured I'd put this to the forum gods. I've never seen a 301 with blue ink instead of green. Is it just a fading issue, or is this a printing error (printer ran out of of yellow or something)? Or something else? Not really interested in purchasing, just thought it was fascinating since I've looked at a lot of copies of this book and have never seen it in blue. Kinda pops, no?
  13. While I agree 3 days isn't a long time, any failing to hit TAT on a fast-track order is especially frustrating considering it's a $15-30 premium per book for the specific purpose of getting it notably quicker than a regular modern order. Right now the listed difference is 18 days. If it comes back with only a 10 or 12 day difference, though, I'd be asking for my money back for sure. At least with other tiers, you are paying more (most likely) for the book being higher value or older, not specifically to get it faster (though that's a definite perk). My TAT comes due tomorrow for a MFT press&grade, and if I don't get it by the end of next week, I will certainly be asking for my money back too.
  14. Modern Fast-Track Press and Grade: - Received CCS 11/15 - CCS in process 11/21 - Received for grading 11/27 - Scheduled for grading 11/27 -GEI 11/30 Was cruising along til now. Still two more days to hit expected TAT, but I’m not getting my hopes up based on what I’ve seen here. Seems like GEI (which I would expect to be one of the faster steps) is the new SFG when it comes to delays 😒
  15. Another really tough book in high grade. This one is already at CGC (grade should come back any day now), so I apologize for the photos--which were just the ones I took before sending it off--not being the best. That said, I figured it couldn't hurt to see what y'all think before I get it back (if just as a little test!). One small CB tick on the front cover, a few rough cut edges, and a little non-CB creasing and soiling on the back (this one did get a C&P, so that should take of a lot of the latter). The ink on the BLBC is a stacking transfer very common to this book. This one is on the heavier side, but I've seen a lot of copies with it being much worse. Biggest issue, though, and the reason I'm posting this, is there is a tiny bit of rust on the bottom staple. It's pretty subtle, as I only noticed it on the back and when looking very closely under light, but it's definitely there. Tough to get a picture of. Curious how much this will affect the grade. There's no migration (more like a couple of specks on the staple only visible from the back), and the staple is clean on the inside of the book. Thanks for looking!
  16. Very tough book in high grades--curious what y'all think. Biggest issues are a couple of small non-color-breaking finger bends on the left edge of the BC (I will be getting this pressed) and this weird cross-hatching thing on the TLBC corner. I've seen this kind of issue on 131's before so I'm thinking it may be a manufacturing issue related to the cutting of the book, but I'm also not entirely sure the impact it would have on the grade. Also, there's a couple of points on the back cover that look like fingerprints, but I assure you they are just part of the cover art (you can scan other copies if you wish to confirm). Have at it!
  17. That's all! Will sell the remaining two books (133 and 136) as a lot for $60 ($25 off). Only valid while they're still available, of course.
