  1. Batman Beyond #3-6 (NM to NM/M): $150 obo $120 (obo) These are all quite nice copies. #3, 5, and 6 I put at either NM+ or NM/M, and #4 I put at NM (mostly due to a stacking bend, which should press out). Apologies for the glare on the spine in the photos! If you want additional pics, just let me know. I'd like to sell these as a set first, so for the moment I won't take offers on individual books.
  2. Hey all! Here are the rules: - First 'take it' trumps all negotiations - Shipping is $8 (US buyers only, but if you are from Canada, PM me and maybe we can work something out); (+$4 extra for Priority) - Accepted forms of payment: Zelle and Venmo are preferred, by I will also accept PayPal if you can't do the others - I ship USPS Ground Advantage (Priority upon request); will ship and provide tracking within 2 days of receiving payment - Returns accepted within 2 weeks of receipt of books - No one on the naughty lists; also, I reserve the right to request kudos or not sell to someone with little or no activity/feedback - I'm still pretty new here, but feel to check out my fledgling kudos thread and attached eBay link! Other than that, feel free to reach out with any questions or to request more pictures! Thanks for looking!
  3. Wow this round of books was ROUGH. Was all over the place on about...oh, all five books. Very curious to see how CGC grades these...
  4. Oof—I was grade harder on the last four books but got killed on the GA (+3) for a +7 total. Oh well
  5. Grades in! At the very least I'm confident I can't do worse than my +16 from last game's Round 1 when I realized 3 minutes before the deadline I hadn't even looked at the books yet and so just threw out random numbers. The bar is very low for this one--feelin good!
  6. Repeating for those in the back. Copyrights don't need to be passed down for four generations for the sole purpose of $$$ going to those who had little or nothing to do with the creation of the art/content. Imagine if Shakespeare was copyrighted to some rich-af English family (or worse, a mega-corporation like Disney).
  7. Yeah, I've looked at other graded copies of this book and they're all over the place in terms of number of spine ticks. Hope my luck is good that day lol. Thanks for the feedback! (and yep, that line is just reflected light--I'll try and get better pictures next time I post a book here).
  8. Evil Ernie #3-5 Lot: $160 obo $135 obo These are, conservatively, in the VF+ to NM- range. Some light non-color-breaking creasing and a few color-breaking spine ticks. Really nice copies though, I think, which would likely benefit quite a bit from a press. One issue of note: there appears to be a tear to the bottom half of the top staple on issue #3. I'm not really sure if this is manufacturing or not (I lean that way, since the binding is otherwise really tight, and there are no major handling issues on any of the other books, which were all from the same collection). Regardless, I want to be transparent about this. More than happy to provide more pictures. Thanks for looking! Feel free to shoot me offers. *Note: Also willing to split these up, though I'd prefer not to. Send me a PM if you're interested in a particular book and maybe we can work something out.

  10. For sure! Only opened the pages as far as I was comfortable with--the binding is really tight anyway, so I wasn't gonna push my luck. A little bit of a bummer even if is manufacturing, as this is otherwise the best raw copy I've seen of this book, direct or newsstand. Def won't be taking it out of the bag again though--I just document all the books I buy for my own records before I re-bag them. Will probably still get it graded just out of curiosity how CGC handles it, but I'm kinda unsure about whether it's even safe to press. I imagine my presser would take this into consideration though (I'd hope!).
  11. Just got this book and not sure what to make of this staple tear: appears the staple shifted and caused a slight tear as a result, but the staple itself feels really tight—it doesn’t shift at all when I try to shimmy it to see if it’s loose. Interior pages don’t seem to be torn, and nothing seems remotely loose. Honestly feels like the book hadn't even been opened. Just wondering if this could be a manufacturing thing, since the staple is otherwise tight? Book doesn’t appear to have been pressed, either, and it is otherwise a really, really nice copy. Curious what y’all think!
  12. Just to clarify, there’s no color breaking scratch—it’s just light reflecting on the spine (unless you’re talking about something else I missed). Sorry for the glare! I don’t have a scanner.
  13. Super tough book in high grade—this one’s a beaut. Couple of very fine CB ticks toward bottom of the front cover, slightly touched BRFC corner, and some light soiling along spine and back cover that should clean up (no foxing I could detect). Also bindery tears top and bottom spine—bottom one is borderline I think for being allowable as a production defect, but it should present better after a press. The 1/8 bend top left corner of the BC doesn’t appear to break fibers, so I’m hoping it’ll smooth out post-press. Same for a couple of non-CB ticks on the BC. Hard to tell with these kind of defects on white covers though, until the book is actually pressed. Thoughts pre/post press? Going out soon. Thanks for looking!
  14. Mostly just the color breaking ticks here. Also some light creasing on the front/back that is not color breaking and should press nicely, along with a slight indent TRBC (pictured) that is also non-CB and should hopefully smooth out. Thoughts pre/post press? This one should be going out soon.
  15. This is sick—congrats! Interestingly I see more of the convention ones on eBay than the one from the anthology box, but I imagine that’s because the box itself is a collectible for Doom fans, whereas plenty of non-collectors/Doom fans probably grabbed the E3 copy when it was given out. Crazy hard to get either in 9.8! The anthology one was—get this—rolled up like a newspaper in the box set lol.
  16. The ability to be unrecognizable to old acquaintances I don’t remember the name of (and don’t care to).
  17. I imagine some variants could make the list. Saga #1 Retailer Incentive comes to mind--supposedly 500 issued and 295 slabbed--a whopping 59%!
  18. Good point! Looks like first print has 1200+ slabbed of a print run of 3000, which is a very high percentage (>40%)--though I'm kind of surprised it's not higher tbh. Interestingly, the second print has only 850 or so on the census with a print run of 6000. Seems like a lot of these remain unslabbed in peoples' collections! Albedo #2 is around 16% of its print run, and Cerebus is around 19%. Thought both would be much higher. Seems like a lot of people holding these indie keys have little interest in slabbing them. Will be curious to see what happens to prices when those owners start liquidating their collections...could be a while though, since none of those books are particularly old.
  19. Based on percentage of total copies ordered, I mean. Census has 3600+ and ‘supposedly’ something like 7200 copies were ordered. If true, that’s around 50% of the population slabbed, which is kinda crazy. Any other books spring to mind that have similar volume of slabbage relative to estimated number of total copies? (also, it’s kinda crazy to me that this book hasn’t really dropped much in price since the boom compared to other big books—maybe the result of a lack of a rapidly increasing census that so many other silver or later keys have seen?)
  20. Yeah, I buy on eBay a lot (usually just raw books though, not slabs), and I'm constantly amazed at how poorly some sellers package their books. But especially for slabs, considering 1095 boxes are literally free and the large bubble wrap you can get for $20 or so for 100 feet, if you use 10 feet of wrap for a slab, that's still only $2 in packaging per slab. Not to mention Priority is usually cheaper than flat-rate since the package weighs less than 2 pounds, especially when using a discounted rate from eBay or Pirateship or wherever. I maybe get trying to cut the fat if you sell a high volume of cheap books, but definitely not for expensive slabs. Truly mind-boggling stuff.
  21. Seconded, I’d contact the seller. I pack my slabs wrapped in thick layers of that good good bubble wrap in a 1095, but I did have a slab get damaged once (the box looked like USPS dropped it from a second story lol) and I was more than happy to compensate the cost of a reholder + plus a little extra for the inconvenience. The options I gave were full refund/return and once the book was reholdered the buyer would have first shot at the book, or the partial refund for a reholder. Felt fair. Only really works if the book is undamaged though. If it’s damaged USPS is gonna foot that bill.
  22. Marvel Spotlight #28, VF/VF+: SOLD This is a really, really nice presenting copy that unfortunately gets dinged by a few notable issues. Staples show a bit a rust (no migration that I noticed), there is one small fingerprint on the front cover (below the 'N' in 'on'), and there is light foxing around the edges of the back cover. Other than that, the spine is really clean, there is very little edge-wear, and the gloss/colors pop. Maybe a good deep clean candidate for those that are into that. Feel free to shoot me an offer!
