  1. 8.0/8.5 on this one also. That's a sick cover!
  2. with a good C&P could see 9.2. hopefully that white back cover cleans up nice!
  3. Thanks for the reply! I'm leaning towards just sending it in, so we'll see what happens. At the very least the comic presents really nicely, so even if I get slammed, I'll still have a pretty copy to display
  4. Hm that's interesting--would that be potentially seen as manufacturing if that was the case? The overlapping part is weirdly flush with the rest of the page when folded over. I can take a picture of it unfolded if that's helpful. (Now I'm almost tempted to get it graded just to see what CGC will do...)
  5. Thanks for the reply! That makes sense to me. My guess is the page being a coupon was just a coincidence, as the tear looks to be an attempt to fold in the poorly cut page (which seems pretty stupid considering it probably could have been folded in without tearing the book, for the same effect lol). EDIT: Also, the beginning of the tear is exactly where the miscut starts
  6. So just edited the post, but it appears the fold is not glued (I dumbly assumed it was because it didn't lift the first time I tried ). Just the big ole tear and fold. TBH if it was otherwise 9.2/9.4 and the tear wouldn't bring it below 8.0, I'd still be tempted to get it graded (and maybe get lucky lol). Thoughts?
  7. Haha I thought about that—wouldn’t they catch it in pre-grading though? I imagine with their volume some interior stuff slips through the cracks every now and then.
  8. (Thankfully wasn't an expensive book and the person I bought it from immediately refunded like 90% of the cost of the book. Don't plan on grading it, but it'll present nicely in my PC--just curious how it would affect grade because I've never seen anything like this before.)
  9. 9.4. I think the rough cut will probably keep it from 9.6. But great looking copy regardless!
  10. I think even with a C&P, 8.5 is probably the highest it would get, due to the small spine split, blunting, wear, CB ticks, and that right edge of the FC. But if it cleans up nice could definitely see 8.0/8.5. As it is, yeah, maybe 7.5.
  11. Just came in the mail! Pretty psyched about these.
  12. Here's a fun one for ya'll. Looks like a miscut page that someone attempted to correct in a really annoying way. Tear is about 2 inches, and the fold appears to be glued back (sadly). Curious as to your thoughts about how this would affect the grade of the book. Let's say it is otherwise 9.2/9.4. Would this get hit with a qualified? I'm thinking it would because of the glue (which I can't actually see residue/evidence of but I can't physically pull the flap back so I assume it is there), but I'd love to know what others think. ***EDIT: On further examination it is not, in fact, glued. So just the tear and fold. Still interested in thoughts though!
  13. 9.4/9.6 lean toward 9.6. Gripper holes (no deduction) and few light color breaks by staples.
  14. 9.4+ post C&P. If all the indents come out 9.6 definitely in play. CB spine tick likely takes 9.8 out of the equation though
  15. I'd say 8.5--corners are gnarly but the book looks great otherwise.
