  2. Got a copy of the error as well. Read the issue. It was good but the story is moving very slow.
  3. Didn't this TEC 29 just sell last month as restored but no trim noted? I was scared off because it had been mentioned as once trimmed. If it did sell where is the listing on HA? Yes. The sale from the last auction was canceled.
  4. I voted moderate amateur. I don't mind restoration and have had books in my collection professionally restored. The other type of restored book I won't buy is when a large part of the cover has been replaced.
  5. I agree with what your saying, but for most non collectors, their interest seems to extend only to the value and not the historical significance of a book.
  6. well said Agreed. The question is how long will it continue.
  7. Anyone have parts to detective 33?
  8. Indeed. Although I think the winner of the 29 will be disappointed if CGC picks up on the trim when he goes for blue. Where is the trim?
  9. Metro Tec 31 5.0 copy has a BIN of 110K. The 33 8.0 has a BIN of 150K. Do you have a link for these 2 books? It looks like my Search skills on the internet leaves a lot to be desired. Scan for the 31 is up. http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=684745 my old copy. Nice! What grade is your current copy?
  10. I contacted her about commissions for next year, but the prices on her site are out of my price range
  11. Most at cover price. I'll splurge on a Campbell variant if Mary Jane is on the cover.
  12. It stinks that an artist can tarnish a good memory or piece. I had a not so good experience with an artist and sold the piece for a loss.
  13. I was at that auction in 94. Gorgeous piece. Congrats! I was 14 and reading Jim Lee X-Men
  14. If a piece is not finished at a show, I ask for a solid completion date. An artist was to complete a piece for my for NYCC but it wasn't done. I have been told it will be done by the end of the year. If it is not, I will ask for a refund. It was facilitated via the artist's dealer so I don't expect to have any issues. Does the artist you are having an issue with have a dealer who sells his art? I would try contacting that person. If not, and you are fed up, I would contact the show promoter where you saw the artist and ask if they can help. Obviously stating the artists name may result in him contacting you. Many people no longer take money down, or only take a partial amount as a deposit. This is how I prefer to have commissions done.
  15. Won this in a charity auction last week. Helping out children with cancer and getting an amazing piece of art in the process. I call that a win-win!
