  1. Thanks! It was for a wedding poster put up in comic stores. Art is by Bill Sienkevick (spelled that wrong).
  2. Just picked this up from the frame shop today. Love how it came out!
  3. Just picked this up from the frame shop today. All archival with museum glass. I love how it turned out!
  4. 35. Started reading and collecting since I was 10. Stopped here and there but always returned. McFarlane and Larsen Spiderman and Jim Lee Xmen is what I grew up with. Today I am narrowing down my collection to a small amount of key golden and silver age books. Still quite a bit into art and statues.
  5. Great seller! Excellent packing and fast shipping! Thanks so much!
  6. No refund. Had to peruse a chargeback with my credit card. I'm guessing the other guy who was scammed had to do the same.
  7. Is there a way to find out what items he has consigned to upcoming auctions?
  8. Have you not gone the route of asking Bill Cox to re-instate your gallery, Ankur? Not yet. I may or may not to be honest. Waiting to see if I get my money back or if the credit card chargeback is the only way. Thus far the seller hasn't refunded me. Bill: there is a big thread about it on the art page.
  9. Since my CAF gallery has been shut down, I decided to create my own website. The name was a no brainer! www.faceittiger.com It is a work in progess, but feel free to give me any feedback on it. Thanks, Ankur
  10. True. But I wonder how often this is done with no one realizing it. If Mike sold the art privately without putting it on his site, it's highly likely that we wouldn't be having this discussion.
  11. Why wouldn't they? They are getting money from both the seller and the high bidder.
  12. On a positive note, I'm glad it was ONLY TWO Caf members that were taken in the scam. Had I not created this thread it could have been much worse. Thank you for CAF for stepping in and shutting the scammers gallery down. That is all I had asked about in the first place.
  13. If the envelope had a tracking number then they will have "proof" of delivery. Did you get a refund? Brian: he isn't talking about the Hildebrandt gallery, but the scammer which was the topic of this post.
  14. Great buyer! Absolutely no worries here!
  15. It did not. I assumed the best as her communication was initially very good.
  16. Emails through CAF. She then emailed me an invoice through square where I entered my credit card number.
  17. I'm actually interested in this myself - any information like an email address on this person. I have no doubt that if this persons done this on CAF, they may try to perpetrate their next scam on another site. All I have is their name which is listed in the first post. I have not received any further correspondence from them. No tracking or refund had been provided to date. And when anyone here is selling, they will want to get the most they can. Nothing abnormal about that. And as I said, the buyer of the book agreed with my grade and was thrilled to own it. Looking at my CAF for sale gallery, I've sold very few pieces over the last 13 years, so the statements that I am benefiting from the site without paying for s premium membership are false. I do not need to explain myself further. My family and patients know the type of person I am, and that is good enough for me.
  18. Because Bill Cox has more supporters. So damage control in the form of non related transactions are being dug up by a few members to prove a point against me.
  19. Good minus was the grade given by James Payette, the dealer I bought it from. When I asked others for their opinion (link above) they all graded it much higher. To be conservative, I graded it 2.0/2.5. Dealing in comics I'm sure you know how how subjective grading is. As I said to you in a PM, you must have a lot of time on your hands.
  20. I'll tell you more! Here is the book in question: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=363097&Number=8211809#Post8211809 It was graded by CBCS as a 1,8 and I disagreed so it was cracked out and sold as a 2.0/2.5. The buyer of the book agreed with my grade and was Thrilled to own it. If he's reading this and having second thoughts, I will happily take the book back. A few things which haven't been said: I emailed Bill regarding the scammers gallery so others wouldn't be taken. When I was told her gallery was taken down, mine was at the same time. Never was I told it was temporarily until this was resolved. Bills last email to me is posted here. And the seller never sent s refund. My dispute is with my CC.
