Several around here begged me to go back to that avatar after I switched out - apparently it fits my on-line persona.
Yeah, maybe, but where's Mystie

Hard to read tone thru a text post but just the opposite, we should all be nicer to each other while we go thru this!
Thanks.
I got the tone by 1) assuming Britain has rules like America's, where you don't ride motorized vehicles on the sidewalks; 2) the description of the motorcyclist's actions after gaining the sidewalk; and 3) the description of the motorcyclist's actions after dismounting his steed.
Of course, this could all be fiction (although I doubt it), but either way, that is how the stage was set for us.

Looks like he slept in that coat.

I might play some gin or Rummy5000 with my buddy, his wife, and their kiddo, via FaceTime. OFC, they will be holding all the cards, so the deck may be stacked against me!

He didn't hit you so no harm no foul. Cut everyone some slack, many people are having a tough day worrying about their loved ones too.
No excuse to be rude.

I can see all those CGC boxes being left out in an unregulated environment, slabs being exposed to high humidity and (relatively) rapid-changing temperatures.

10 on the front page right now. The mods should be on top of this, condensing threads and freeing the FP for more comic-book based stuff.

That is pretty funny! I never saw the resemblance before... No, it's from an old razor blade package, from all the other junk I collect. I have been watching a lot of Dobie re-runs, though, so your guess is well timed. All Dobie had to worry about was his lack of money and how he was going to impress Thalia and get Zelda off his back. There were no pandemics and quarantines and market meltdowns - just his miserly dad to worry about.
Isn't TV life great? Too bad reality is never just like that...

There's always the "Report" function - it can be used to combine and condense threads, not just for nefarious purposes.

And also a general note for those looking for news in these times, and future times...try to separate opinion from fact from hyperbole, and I know its sometimes difficult based on the way its presented, especially in your favorite channel or website (whoever you may be). And if you want opinions, try to evaluate the credentials of the opinion maker, and their potential motivations for said opinion. Also consider making your own devil's advocate argument AGAINST whatever it is you think you (or your favorite commentator) believes. But we need to all do our best to stick to facts.
I promise you we all have more in common than we think:
For example, we all agree JRJR has not been good at art since the 80's. But we ALSO all agree that he's been better at art than Frank Miller after the 80's. And we also all agree that Episode 2 was the worst of the Star Wars movies.
And Empire was superior to ROTJ.

So, I was wondering - who are the big-shots and even not-so-big-shots, that have ever posted here on the CGC boards? Have we ever had a Frank Miller or a Joe Quesadilla or even a Rob Liefeld? Jim Shooter? I am sure I have heard one story about a certain artist that came here, got trolled, and left in a huff, but IDK who that was anymore.
So, anyone know/remember who is a "name" in the comic book biz that has posted here???

Knocked prices down on the UXM 118 and 125, to $20 and $25 respectively, as I really need to go into town one more time for supplies and I need all the cash I can get. I promise I don't have the WuFlu, so please take advantage of the slashed prices!!!

"Pound sand"
or, alternatively,
"Go fist yourself."
I am still trying to figure out what is my personal career highlight here: it's a toss-up RN between Greggy finally reacting to one of my posts, or SeanFingh calling me a "pedantic @$$hat".

I agree that since he initially stated his shipping cost and you've already paid him, he should man up and send you the book. If he wanted more than $5 for shipping, he should have put that in the listing. He also could have said something to the effect of "shipping costs may vary depending upon location." At least that alerts potential buyers that shipping may be more than $5...
If I ever have an "iffy" situation (comics are usually not in that category, but I guess they could be), I state a shipping charge that covers my worst-case scenario and state that very fact in my auction, as well as saying something like "if shipping within 1 zone away, I will refund any difference in shipping so as not to overcharge my buyer".

He listed a S&H charge. You paid that charge. He needs to *ahem* "suck it up, buttercup", and send you the book you won and paid for.

My Dad passed away last November. It started as dementia, but ratcheted up to full blown ALZ.

We call that Heavy Lifting. As in, please do all the Heavy Lifting for me. I visit regularly at a nursing home just to talk to some of the folks who have no one to talk to. It helps me and it seems to help them, but boy do I have to do all the Heavy Lifting in those conversations. But, hell, least they got an excuse. Some of these guys helped put us into space working at JPL and now they can't tie their shoes. Life is a cosmic joke that ain't funny.
Yeah, I know that feeling well, having an 81YO mom with dementia.

I have a bunch* of 80's mutant titles from Marvel on eBay right now for auction, as well as (Uncanny) X-Men #118 and 125 at a reasonable BIN.

ebay username pewter4144, please take me off your list if you have me on as I jokingly put my name in the Blocked Ebayer thread and it went badly for me.
Thanks for looking!
*EDIT* - not putting anything else up RN due to weirdness in society. But pls see last post anyway!

Anytime I've ever shipped something like that, I always ship flat, using unfolded USPS boxes, and I write on both sides in large letters "DO NOT BEND, FOLD, SPINDLE, OR MUTILATE".
So far, no problems.

Either way, awesome. I was a double-digit kid on the 80's so these are all fond memories for me! Thanks for sharing.
