  1. Maybe it was already mentioned but does anyone know why CGC barely has any keynotes for these books? Example 1st Gunslinger whether it’s 119 or 174, neither mention it.
  2. Thanks for the responses all. So I guess the result is these very visible marks are “sometimes normal” and there isn’t anything I can do with my books. Just an unfortunate experience for my first one.
  3. Very interesting read. I started my comic adventure in the early 90s as did a lot of others. Collected for about 10 years then took a break. That break lasted 20 years, only returning at the start of this year. The landscape has changed dramatically. One thing I find interesting when I watch comic videos or go to local cons, is that the people buying comics are my age or older. Younger gen (I have a 13 yr old son) are all into online gaming, youtube, twitch etc. I have a solid vintage video game and comic collection, and I often wonder as years go on will anyone care about this stuff? Or will it be cyclical like so many other things in history and become popular again? Nice to see everyone kind of thinking the same things.
  4. I tried Shortbox, which has some cool features like historical data and the 'green, yellow or red' markers showing if items are priced well or not. My one issue is the shipping. I am in Canada. I bought one book to test it out. I paid $15 USD for the item to be shipped to their depot in California, where they hold and inspect. Now I have to pay $50 USD for them to ship me '1 or 2' books. So I will end up paying $65 USD to receive one slab from their app.
  5. Thanks for the response. I was able to find some examples on ebay as well, but only a couple. The strong majority of books I looked at didn't have it. Literally all 15 of my books have it. Without knowing the exact encapsulation process, it does seem odd for their to be such a visible difference in the outcome of the welding.
  6. Ya not sure if its a mechanical error, but it definitely seems off if no other books seem to have it. I have also emailed it to customer service. Just very disappointing to have it happen on my first submission, considering the grades were all excellent.
  7. Thanks for the response. I wonder now if it is a defect as I can't seem to find any other books with it, and every single one of mine has it. It really takes away from the appearance of the slabs.
  8. Hello all, was very excited to get my first submission back. I just opened my 15 book submission and every book has this very visible glue on the inside (I think it’s glue?). I own about 30 slabs prior to this submission and have never seen it before. Has anyone else seen it? I don’t think it’s normal. thanks, Matt
  9. I’m in this exact same scenario. First submission, waiting at post office for a day and then picked up on Friday. Thanks for sharing. What I wonder is if there is any auto communication from CGC? Like emails when package is opened, or grades are complete, or shipping notice? Or do we need to keep checking.
