  1. I don't mean to interrupt this sales thread, but anyone else notice these Bob Hope's are heating up? I've always been a fan of those GGA covers and Bob Oksner is a very underrated artist, although I believe Owen Fitzgerald did this particular cover. Plus the stories are hilarious, written by Arnold Drake.
  2. I usually tell them to put it on the JUMBOTRON. The whole city can see it then. Don't want anyone left out.
  3. At one time ppl were happy with just a copy. They mostly didn't show up. Prices were high as a result and flushed out more copies, driving down prices on the more common issues in lower grades with more pedestrian covers (I argue those don't exist, they are all gems for their own reasons). When I first started collecting, I remember picking up books for $5.00, some of them the harder to find issues, although I didn't know that at the time. 20 years of CGC and we get a good picture of the populations of these issues. All are still rare to non-existent in high grade. Desirable cover gets good money. High grade gets good money. Together they get really good money. The best copies seem locked away, perhaps to only surface under dire circumstances. If prices fall, copies will stop surfacing, ppl don't want to give them away. Creates a cycle. But the rare ones will keep their value.
  4. I just hated the ZOWIE! header. Must they always do that?
  5. When they see the Superior on the indicia on the inside cover along with the Toronto address, geniuses in Sarasota might figure it out.
  6. This time around he described it, although should have used the words incomplete. The first listing was a fraud, he didn't mention any missing pages or repair. The new winner might have a hard time returning it, if there is buyer's remorse.
  7. Yes I remember this scandal now. 40 years for a sun tanned All Star 3.
  8. Yeah and if you look down it resold August of this year for $72,000.00. Massive loss for the guy who paid $200K. Loser.
  9. Up for sale- second to last Teen-age Romances. Great Baker full bleed cover, plus interior. Very hard to find. Complete and fully attached, I'd give this a 2.0/2.5. Off-white pages. Nice colors. SOLD! Returns accepted.
  10. Was Beerbaum the consignor of Stoned Again? Happened long time ago. Probably traded hands before the recent auction.
