  1. That seems like a great idea, very well thought out. And, that's a very nice looking book.
  2. Very nice run and very consistent in appearance. Congrats!
  3. Accuracy and timeliness of the prices notwithstanding, I find the OCBPG indispensable because, in one convenient location, I have all of the information I need about what titles have been published, how many issues are in a title and a brief statement about what's special about a particular issue. That probably doesn't change much from year to year but, when it does, those changes help highlight that there's a particular book that I need to start paying attention to that I might have previously overlooked. Then, using that information as a starting point, I can check up-to-date pricing on the 'Net. Even if OCBPG had 100% accurate pricing on the day it shipped, a month later it's out of date on some books and I'm going to have to check the 'Net anyway. For that reason, I'm not too bothered about the accuracy of their prices, as long as the relative pricing of the issues is accurate.
  4. I think that raw copy must be about dead center between Betty Brant's head and the ear. Well done!
  5. But, can you ever have both? I've been mentally comparing the two covers and I'm not convinced you can, although that might very well be the narrowest ear on record (so the cover doesn't have to rotate around too far). Does anyone have a copy that's better centered?
  6. Thanks, Jay! That's a super nice thing to say.
  7. Yes, inquiring minds want to know! Nice books.
  8. Thanks. I'll take a peek at it. I have a 9.4. I wanted to compare it to the 9.6 which is why I was looking for the past sales. Have any of the other 11 9.6 copies turned over recently?
  9. Is the 9.6 copy the June sale listed on GPA for $5900? I belatedly followed the link but it's no longer there. I was hoping to see it. I bet it was nice. Is there a way to look at past sales? I looked around but didn't see one.
  10. I see a lot of color break in the bottom corner of the front cover near the spine. Is any of that paper torn or just a severe color break?
  11. Kirby Journey Into Mystery JIM 97 VF/Fn This book breaks my heart... a beautiful book which would grade much higher otherwise, it has a 1/2" spine split at the top which pulls it down to VF/Fn. JIM 99 Fn Take both for $160 SOLD
  12. Thanks for letting me off the hook, Wally. I did notice the left foot but, strangely, I never truly made it past the missing bra strap.
  13. Oh, darn! I scrolled down too quickly and I missed the discussion of the bra straps above. I don't know how that happened. At least I know it wasn't just me that noticed.
  14. Congrats on the sale. Truly awesome book! I love this cover but every time I see it, I immediately want to know ... what happened to the bra straps across her back? It wasn't just the nude that vanished.
  15. Awesome! Thanks for all of the expert input. The staples certainly look their age and they're placed where I would expect. I think it's probably a safe bet that there hasn't been any aftermarket alteration.
  16. I ran across a World's Finest 2 today. The cover is detached but complete. I'm curious about the binding if anyone can shed some light. The book is square-bound and apparently, the cover was attached to the pages with adhesive. The pages are stapled together top to bottom with two staples. My question is, were the pages originally stapled together or were all of the pages also bound in with adhesive along the spine and the staples have been added after the fact? Thanks one and all.
