Anyone know Mike Diana? Ever seen this?
Never heard of him. Did a quick google search of his work and wish I hadn't.

This is absolutely one of the coolest posts (IMO) in the mag thread for a very long time. It put Jack Jackson on my radar and has inspired me to purchase some items related to his historical works. Thank's so much for sharing.

There are so many ways to screw this up and only a very narrow path to pull this off successfully IMO. Can't wait to find out something more definitive in regard to the direction they are taking.

Just got back from the local cinema with my wife. First movie we have viewed in theatre since Rise of Skywalker. Absolutely enjoyed it. No precocious 12-year-old kid who solves every problem; No scientist and his/her estranged scientist spouse dealing with their own issues as they try to save the world; In short, none of the tropes that Hollywood seems to think are required in these sorts of flicks. My wife made the comment, as we were leaving, "that movie felt like I was watching something made decades ago", and she meant that as a compliment. I think she liked it more than I did. I was a little put out with the ending as it seemed too formulaic. I think a more powerful statement could have been made without opting for the happy ending.
Solid B+ in my book.
I wonder if TOHO is resetting their Godzilla universe with this as our starting point?

Everyone has their own favorite Doctor and everyone’s choice is valid.
With that said, Troughton was the best:
My personal favorite was the fifth doctor as portrayed by Peter Davison. That was my introduction to the Doctor on television as my local PBS station played them on Saturday nights (immediately after Are You Being Served). I will always hold a special warm teenage feeling for Janet Fielding from that season as well.

Have I mentioned Sand Sharks? So these sharks have somehow evolved to swim in sand, instead of water. Despite the fact that there's really nothing under the desert floor for the most part to feed on, they've done this. They then attack humans in this one small town, the only small town where they've mutated to do this, naturally.
How can you stay safe from them? Stand on concrete. They can't get through concrete. That's the rules. Okay.
It contains the immortal line "They're not just SAND sharks.... THEY'RE LAND SHARKS!" as one destroys a mountain, revealing it had been hiding in a mountain, motionless, doing... Well, we don't know what. Now, little known fact, but there's not exactly a tonne of oxygen under the sand, but they can breathe just fine, and when they take victims under, and their victims come back up for air, like in any shark attack movie, they're gasping as if they've been underwater, not spitting out sand.
It's probably the worst movie I've ever seen, thus making it the best I've ever seen.
That or the shark movie that was basically a student film, but it did get a proper Bluray release and small theatrical run, the name escapes me, it was a generic shark movie name. They were supposed to be stranded at sea, but they'd filmed on a small pond, as you could see the land behind them in every shot, and the water was only knee deep, so it was kinda hard to take them seriously when they were whining about being so far out at sea with no food and water, no land for miles around, when they could have just hopped out of the boat and walked 15 feet and been on the shore, drama over.
And of course, they needed a shark. They did not size the shark to the water depth. So this massive 20ft shark was barrelling out of water about 10 inches deep, with no shadow, no body, just a shark head. It was hilarious too. Full marks for production. Almost at Birdemic level.

You could call him with any problem - anything - and he would point you to a solution. Marriage counseling. Court cases. Police pending trials. Dating. The guy just had to gift of putting people at ease while he helped solve their excessive or everyday problems. I missed that show from when I was a kid.
Then along came The Marvels thread. Welcome back, Doctor Meltzer!
Grandpa had a solution for my brother and I when we were kids and fighting. Our ranch had about 3 miles of border shared with a railroad and at some point he had them deposit all the old bridge timbers from a trestle they replaced, onto our land. Grandpa would send us out to the timber pile with mauls, wedges, and hacksaws (had to cut through all the iron work binding the timbers together). We would have to quarter the timbers into pull posts etc. We learned to settle disagreements quietly or at least out of sight of Grandpa.

Any key issues of Savage Sword of Conan other than #1 (or possibly #2)?
