  1. Everyone who doesn't know him speaks well of him.
  2. I've ultimately decided to try to get 18-41 complete. If I didn't already have nice copies of 18 & 20, I would have started with 21. You're absolutely right about these being hard to find. I think Quality books get seen as common since some lesser collected titles are more often for sale, but I've had a fairly difficult time finding nice copies of this stretch. 33 is a really wonderful WWII cover. Just dripping with propaganda.
  3. If 21 isn't a classic cover, then I don't know what is.
  4. I love this one. Look at the ground behind the Kaiser.
  5. 26 is one of my favorite GA books. From cover to cover it's full of amazing art.
  6. Over the years I finally came to realize that I don't like 7 as much as the consensus. I'm not saying it isn't a great cover, because it is. I just find that there are a number of other Fine covers that I like as much if not more. That being said, if anyone has a high grade copy, I'll take it.
  7. 24 is one that I have had a hard time finding. I think it's a wonderful cover!
  8. Pedigrees in the wild... I found the San Francisco 20 in the wild! Looks like HA has offered the 14-19, Harley had the 26 a while back, HA sold the 27, you have the 29, HA has sold the 33, 35, 36, 39, & 41. Sounds like there may be more wild ones out there.
  9. I've been slowly picking up this run over the past 10-12 years. I got my start with a copy of #7 that I got from Jason Ewert back in the mid-90s when he picked up a set of bound volumes and had them separated. Over the years I started to appreciate them not only for the great Lou Fine covers of the earlier issues, but then how as much as any run it took the WWII era patriotism to another level with Uncle Sam, etc,. Starting around the mid-teens I think it finally developed it's identity, and one befitting the title. For the next 3 years the WWII theme continued until a shift in mid-44 to a more bland theme took over similar to Quality's other titles. But enough talking, more sharing. Feel free to chip in with what you have! I'll start with my copy of 16 with the classic Lou Fine skeleton cover that pairs nicely with Hit comics 17.
  10. Lovely. I recall seeing this flipping through my stuff. It's so well rendered.
  11. Call CGC. Not trying to be a , but that's what you need to do.
