  1. Waaaaaaaay back in the day I had a beater copy of this that I bought from Mark Wilson. Looking back I'm curious if it was monkeyed with, but I'll never know. I let it go somewhere in the sands of time and figured I was priced out of owning another copy. Then I went to Terry's show and lo and behold, look what I came home with The ultimate DC war key and a stunner of a copy at that. I'm on cloud 9.
  2. Some rapscallion had the indecency to slab this book so I cracked it out. Fun partial Raboy inside where the baddies plot to change the faces on Mount Rushmore to Hitler, Goebbels, Tojo, and Hirohito. Seems like a lot of work to go through. Maybe that's why they lost?
  3. that Mr. B. Always beating his thing.
  4. Well you did say it was decenter (get it... de - center...)
  5. There is clearly some restoration. Probably some piece infills at the top and bottom of the spine, color touch on the larger crease, and probably cleaned.
  6. When I first started collecting I and several other collectors I knew thought his name was Zolne Rowich due to the way he staggered his signature on some covers.
  7. There are a few hanging out in boardie's collections -- I have a former 8.5. That one has a fantastic splash.
  8. You guys are just to young to have such taste in books! I was quite surprised how young Buttock was in person. I was pumping him about his Friction House score but he didn't have any with him so I made him hold one of mine for the picture. The "young guys" are the future of this hobby and I am always glad to see them appreciate the GA stuff. It was great to meet you in person Bob! Despite being "young" I think I first talked to you in 1995 if I have my records right!
  9. I think your comment illustrates the fault line between a "collector" and an "investor." Most of the old time "collectors" I have met are, when it comes to comics, hoarders. They aren't investors. They could cash out for big bucks, but most would rather take it to their graves. They can't even understand why anyone would want to sell the items that they put so much effort into finding and which cause them so much pleasure. Which is probably why some of the more prominent collections recently sold at Heritage have been estate sales (Roberts' original art sale, Weist, etc.). I also think that's why you see some books coming on the market repeatedly. They haven't found a home with a true collector yet. They are just flitting from investor to investor. Not to mention if you sell then A) you no longer have a book and likely won't replace it and B) if you sell now, you lose out on future gain in value.
  10. My Hit 11 is scanned in large size on the HA archives. They should be able to access that readily.
  11. Shame you couldn't find anything nice!

  15. On a similar note, I too have a list of art available for sale. You can see it at this website, but the prices are a little out of date. They are all 20% higher than listed, but you'll need to PM me to confirm. http://www.romitaman.com
