  1. Great book! Very difficult to find in any grade. Congrats!
  2. From what perspective? Importance? Value? Potential value? Personal preference? All of the above. Curious because I personally consider cap to be the #3 most important comic book universe character, but appears my perspective is wrong. WW beats cap out based on the recent sales...Flash and GL might also. How do you figure that? The highest graded AS8 is not comparable to a Cap 1 that is tied for 8th with 4 others.
  3. True, but only National 18 depicts an invasion of Pearl Harbor before 12/7/41. However, I believe it was both the Japanese and Germans invading Pearl Harbor in the story if my recollection is correct. IIRC, someone recently discovered another Pearl Harbor attack story that preceded the actual attack. Of course, I have no recollection of who or where that was, but details aren't important, are they?
  4. If you kept going for another month you would have things like this... don't judge me, but i don't like it. it is better than the fantastic, m. men and w'world books from 8/40, i admit. check this'un out: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FANTASTIC-COMICS-9-1940-BONDAGE-CVR-FOX-GOLDEN-AGE-SAMSON-/231897018120?hash=item35fe23af08:g:mpwAAOSwLpdW~JUA For better or for worse I've got the Larson of that one (Fantastic 9). Not one of Lamont's finest, that's for sure. That is an interesting point, the F9 would have been put aside for him as usual, I wonder if he kept up with them after seeing a few more of the late 1940 covers. Anybody know how deep into the Fantastic run Larsons go? At least through 22. Don't know if there is a Larson 23. The list says 1-9, 20-22
  5. Dang Gino, that's a few years worth of killer Foxes in one week!
  6. (Simon cover ) Remarkably, that's tied for highest graded.
  7. Thanks for all the kind words. Trying to chase these books down takes the patience of Job, I just realized it took somewhere around 10 years to get these. Here lately, it seems like it also takes the coffers of Solomon.
  8. A recent pickup now gives me this short run in pretty decent shape, all with great colors & PQ. Now to find a 1 & 6...
  9. I'd love to get a deep red copy of this one some day.
  10. These are fantastic BOOT. Thanks for sharing. I'm interested to see a second known copy of "Startling Facts about Dictatorship". That has a great center spread. Oh, and... Harry Thyng
  11. It took me a while to come around to Guardineer, he's got a style halfway between cartoony and realistic. Once I finally got him, I've become a big fan. National Comics 26 has a wonderful splash I'll try and get a pic of.
  12. I absolutely love this cover. Ingels was
  13. Oy! Two of them! One more... Aw, what the heck. Church copy has excellent production quality as well. The others all have stuff cut off. I find it very interesting that the other 3 have some of the top text cut off and the bottom text box also is slightly cut off but the Church copy contains it all. Figure that one out. I had another HG copy that had a slight miscut. It makes no sense.
