  1. I'm not sure what all the hype is about...
  2. Don't wonder anymore. Girl on the Torture Wheel circa 1934 Excerpt: Claudia was wearing no brassiere. Her cupped breasts rode proudly on her chest. Jerry came out of his momentary transfixion, leaped across to Claudia and buried his face in the warm-scented, velvety valley. His lips brushed in savage hunger. His breath came in hot gasps. The body out there on the wheel was that of Maxine LeSoir! Jerry stood looking at her a moment, then charged. The bodies met, clung, throbbed. He lifted her, carried her to a plush-covered sofa on one side of the room. His burning hands caressed her body that was leaping to meet his. “I’ve waited a long time to find a man like you,” Claudia panted. “And you’ve found the woman.” Jerry couldn’t talk. With him, actions spoke louder, more forcefully, than words.
  3. Hard to tell from a pic, but that doesn't look overtly trimmed to me. I think it doesn't quite lay flat so the bottom edge looks irregular.
  4. All the Auroras I can find with a C code have the date expressed as one number on top of the second with a line in between, like a fraction. I'd guess this isn't a pedigree. Still a sweet copy though!
  5. Oooh, you like those bad comics that are put through a stiff examination by the firms, do ya? If you are taking a poll it would be hard for me to disagree with buttock.

  7. Cool book! Is that a pedigree? The markings look kinda familiar. That's what I thought, too. But it's from no pedigree collection that I'm aware of. Could be an Aurora.
  8. You said it would be under a billion, and people were calling you crazy, but there was no association between the two events.
  9. I got that for $9.25 but ordered at the counter and had it delivered.
  10. Watched it with the boy last night. Solid popcorn flick. I thought Snyder's vision was perceptible throughout the movie and actually added to the overall package. Plot was decent, of course there were holes, but show me a superhero movie that doesn't have those. As far as that goes, it was way better than Age of Ultron (which was not a very good film). Jesse Eisenberg was the low point. Incredibly annoying, both his portrayal and his character. Affleck was passable, but still can't act his way out of a paper sack. Who cares who Lois Lane was? Gal Gadot... FX were top notch. Plot was decent, did a nice job of setting up the future. I think you have to take that into account when assessing this movie. My main issue with the whole movie was Batman and his motivations. Those seemed a bit off from the standard mythos. Didn't care for Jeremy Irons as Alfred. Missing the whole British passive aggressiveness. And once again, Gal Gadot... Overall, definitely worth the $9.25, and has me intrigued to see how the whole JLA thing falls into place. I can see the franchise getting much better with each film. Much like Nolan's Batman trilogy, I think each will have to be considered in the context of the others. If the next one is a stinker, then this one will lose points. But if the sequel is a home run, the setup from the first film will elevate its status.
  11. Yup the other "Eldon" was cartoonist Eldon Dedini. [edit] Judging by a letter Eldon K. Everett wrote to a magazine in 1957, he resided in Tacoma, Washington. The editor of the magazine acknowledged that Eldon was a know member of sci-fi fandom. Actually, there are 2 Eldons for comic lineages. The Dedinis are not typically books with "Eldon" written on them, that was yet another Eldon. His name is buried somewhere in the "Show us your Eldons"thread, but I don't recall it. The Dedinis had block lettering on the covers IIRC.
  12. Any ads inside? Or any on the BC? I would assume that's one of the CMO giveaways. And I also assume the FPS laundry giveaway was not distributed since there are no copies with a specific laundry on them, only a "your laundry name".
  13. Is the AMF a laundy giveaway or CMO?
  14. I've owned 2 diff #1 keen Komics and 2 diff #3. I've owned the same #2 twice. I've never owned a Keen Komics 1, but would certainly like to. Got it now, there was an AMF giveaway and a FPS laundry promotional. Yeah, I screwed that up. No AMF laundry giveaway.
  15. wow. No idea what the other 9 are Most likely the discrepancy is in the "semi-Centaurs". For example, some may consider only a few of the issues published by those other companies as semi-Centaurs and might therefore exclude Detective Picture Stories. GCD summarizes the history and gives links to each of the related publishers. http://www.comics.org/publisher/58/ I'm good with comic mag co, ultem and the oversized cheslers. It's the khakis I balk at Khaki Komics isn't a digest. There's also a variant cover AMF and this one: As well as the AMF laundry giveaway.
