  1. I don't see any facilitators having this show in the CGC drop down, but looks like a pretty decent celeb line up: https://nfcomiccon.com/celebrityguests/
  2. This is 100% the correct response - kudos to Official Pix, that is great customer service 👍 hope the follow up signing works out for you!
  3. That seems beyond unprofessional - Official Pix should 💯 know better. @frank4713 if you don’t mind, can you follow up on this thread (or the one in restoration) after you hear back? If thats SOP for Official Pix I wont risk sending them any more books - yikes.
  4. True @austinhg - if they completely differentiate the label that might be a deal breaker - New ORANGE LABEL!! - but if they add a comment on the yellow label that is simple and clear: 'JSA Verified Signature' that's probably going to get them a ton of books submitted.
  5. I think you're living all of our worst fears @frank4713 - that is awful. I'd reach out to Official Pix first (in writing) and see if they can provide an explanation - tape residue doesn't just randomly show up - I wonder if something happened when they cracked the slab? Did you have the book pressed after the signing? I'm not too familiar with what a good press can really do, but removing tape residue sounds to me more like restoration than something that would come out with a press - and if it is restoration, you might end up with a qualified green/yellow label in the end (which, given the green cover, might not look toooo bad...? but certainly not the 9.8 yellow slab you were hoping for) You might ask about the residue in /r/comicbookpressing on reddit or the CGC board thread. so sorry to see this happen - his sig is also a huge chunk of money, and I don't think he does signings too often, so ugh all of that just makes it that much worse.
  6. Yowza! https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/12753/
  7. No writer or artist notes…? 🤔
  8. thx @comicartfan I'll pass on that 2nd copy of Simpsons 6, but will take the below plz - thx! Asm 688. 9:6. $3 Itchy and Scratchy 1. 9.0. $8 The Simpsons 192 9.2 $5
  9. I wouldn't be surprised at all if CGC damaged the books - I have sent several brand new, flat as a pancake books with corners to die for - what I would consider easy 9.8s - and they have come back with similar graders notes (or not at all), with grades ranging from 8.5-9.4 - two of them were SS books that somehow gained color breaking creases in the same location, so those 2 are done. : / fwiw, 2 of the 8.5 books I sent back in to be repressed and regraded: one came back a 9.8, and the other a 9.6, so part of me thinks it's mishandling and/or luck of the draw with graders, or CGC just looking to cash in a little more. I also think CGC's customer support is well above the normal bar, so if you reach out to them and complain and show them the evidence, they may be able to credit you for a follow up pressing, which is probably the best you're going to do (you'll still likely end up paying for the regrade tho, so kind of a mixed bag).
  10. fwiw @pmjohnson06 I had several submissions come back in the middle of last year with Newton Rings, but haven't seen any since last fall, probably about 20 books since then - so I feel like it's been getting better in the last few months.
  11. > Chad has reached out to me via PM, apologized and made a nice donation to the Hero Initiative. This was the right thing to do. Also this. My is that he shouldn't be banned from selling per se, but I personally won't be buying anything from him.
  12. Wouldn't buy from him even if he did make a donation as the remedy.
  13. What! that's no bueno. We need more visibility to the processes, not less! I thought that video was really well done tbh.
  14. This seems to be the exact reason for the rule.
  15. Thx @comicartfan - I'll definitely be picking up a few more (got any Futurama...?)
  16. Yeah i think its like a planet or something, but when the video is running it only shows the top half, so i thought it was a finger bend - comment updated 👍
  17. This is great - really nice visibility into some of the inside processes. I'm no CGC grader, but at 10:53, and 10:57, he's supposedly showing us a perfect, gem 10.0, but unless I'm missing something, there's a fold on the right hand side of the cover: and a pretty deep indentation on the back? The indentation might be just some weird color line, but I haven't been able to find an image to compare it to. If I saw a book with that right cover defect, I wouldn't bother to submit it for a 9.8 prescreen, much less expect it to get a 10. ----- Update: Ok I was missing something! Both of those issues are actually part of the cover art - here is the actual listing: https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/4388059005/ the 9.9 also has the weird color line on the back so I guess that's just part of the cover (however it has a pretty big white blotch on the front cover by the blue rangers head, maybe that's just the scan?) https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/4388059016/
