  1. Why are you surprised at that Harbinger price? It's very status-quo...
  2. I think I wouldn't offer a washroom to patrons, discourage people from loitering.
  3. Actually, a medium volume single storefront account. 12 k minus the variants is 8k regulars by my monkey math. Reasonable in today's market. I "still" think the pitch is better than the actual book. ( but we're one issue deep, lots of room to grow) Fixers that work for Vampires. Somethings up. I can feel the buzz. Selling WAY too good right now. Cool stuff, The largest store in my town had sold out of his Day Men, and I told him to get me a re-ordered copy (we'll see if it's a second print), but he said he felt it would after reading it. This store does a fair amount of volume too, top 10% of Diamond orders at the retailer level. I still think there's a flood of them on ebay, and the price will come down, especially with the lots of 10 being sold. If I had bulk copies of this, you couldn't get me to sell the majority of them quick enough.
  4. Then why doesn't this guy list them all for 75% of the average selling price?
  5. Not a lot of non-comic folks believe modern comics are worth anything, so they don't bother researching. And especially with comics that suddenly get hot, like spawn 9, they will not make a point of staying current. I found an Invincible #1 in a pawn shop/antique store last year; who knows how long it had been sitting there...
  6. Good points but you left out something very important. Placing an early bid draws attention to an auction. I've won auctions of mixed lots of comics that had hidden gems (unknown to the seller), because some clown bid early, at a very low price, and I came in with a snipe and sweep up the auction. Had this individual not put that bid in, on more than one occasion I wouldn't have bid, and that first bidder could have had that auction very, very cheap. You guys talk about auctions...well are they not competitions? And in a competition isn't it to win at hopefully the lowest possible price? If you really want to win something and money is not an issue, then fine. But I don't know many people that would rather pay $250 than $200 for an item if given the choice, and sniping, more often that not, does that. I understand a lot of people don't use esnipe, and I get that; for me it's an essential part of the buying process (like GPA for a buyer of CGCs).
  7. WHAT O M G I MUST FIND THIS BOOK. The movie about her is banned in Ontario so I have to get my hands on this! With a $5 cover price I'm guessing this wasn't a big seller. There was a Jeffrey Dalmer comic put out (by I think Chaos, or a similar known publisher) limited to just 100 copies.
  8. I don't know...the plastic surgery these gals have now, is probably bang on...And the one on the left clearly has an eating disorder...don't take that gal out for dinner!
  9. Nice grab! You got it at a good price, but I can't believe the seller would advertise that as NM...
  10. Those other books are more rare, for sure. I think this was the first ever Valiant made book; other books to find that are quite rare are the variants of the Nintendo Hardcovers. Also, the 4 TPB books are pretty tough to find, and good buys anywhere south of $20: "Mario Special Powers", "Koopa Kids", "Battle against Bowser" and "Tantaga Invades Earth". If you can find them in high grade, jump on them, they basically don't exist!
  11. How 'bout instead of sullying a thread of ultra-rare, impossible-to-find books, you take these common error books somewhere else... So.... what your trying to say is... being that this error book is common, I can assume you have one in your collection. How am I tarnishing this thread. I'm presenting comic book related information to share and also to learn about. Thats what I feel this site is for. If you don't like what I upload to share you have every right to ignore my posts. I don't come on here to impress what I own, I search this site to learn about books I never knew existed. Maybe if you spent 30 seconds doing some research, you'd realize this book is blatantly common. Sure I could ignore your posts, but then if every random clown posted books like these, this wouldn't be a thread containing information. New posters to the boards are looking for information. You, azzhat, are the clown. Newb, maybe. But a life prevents me from posting 20,000 times....

  14. Well if it's a printing error, you can always put it up for ebay for 20k!
  15. Oh snap! That's a nice cover. The whole series is still doing amazingly well. The hasting variants are moving quickly, the regular issue is gone in seconds if BIN for $25 on eBay, the gamestop variant is still chugging along and now a variant I haven't seen! (thumbs u Ummm... On E-Bay, the new Star Wars series has really slowed down since the initial few weeks. The regular issue fetches about $10-$15 (definitely not $25) if it sells at all (most go unsold.) The Gamestop variant has sold as low as $12.50 this week, but most issues are definitely sub $50 now. And the Hasting variants are just sitting there at $10-15 and are not moving at all. Not sure where you are seeing this other activity. , well I'd disagree when it comes to 9.8 slabs. Here's just one example that ended just 2 weeks ago. http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAR-WARS-1-Dark-Horse-Brian-Wood-HASTINGS-VARIANT-CGC-9-8-/130865677085?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item1e7833c31d Why educate anymore? let them think what they want to think. One of my favorite all-time quotes: "But the average man doesn’t wish to be told that it is a bull or bear market. What he desires is to be told specifically which particular stock to buy or sell. He wants to get something for nothing. He does not wish to work. He doesn’t even wish to have to think. It is too much bother to have to count the money that he picks up from the ground. "
  16. Well, if both of you guys are selling that deathmate double cover for $500 - correction, attempting to sell - then yes, my comment was directed at both of you...
  17. There's a bunch of error copies (white/grey) of this floating around, which is not just the cover, but the full comic. I had one awhile back and sold it....and there's one on ebay from some clown who's set the record for ebay re-lists.
  18. Nice work, I love those Valiant VVSS books, I wonder if Quantum and Woody issues will see any increase in value with their return this year? I would say probably not....Valiants have not appreciated in value from the reboot.
  19. A few things i see right away that limit me personally as a potential buyer... -You are in Canada. -Your feedback # is low Ya, hate the feedback thing, but I'm not a business, so it's hard to up the selling quickly. How does the Canada thing affect you guys in the States buying from us through eBay??? Customs charges??? just a hastle??? Thanks for the feedback Exposure has more to do with it than anything else...you just have to be patient at times, and ebay selling is a huge wildcard! You can't expect to get top dollar in auctions, there's too much variance....if you don't like the gamble, you're better off setting a BIN/BO, and list it for 30 days.
  20. That's pretty smart. They key for all LCS should be moving inventory, all the time. And if they can sell all that they order for cost and above, not factoring in additional boosts from retailer-variants or other streams of income, they're operating beautifully!
  21. Two of the LCS stores I frequent, they actually increase the cover price of issues to 4.50 or 4.75 when they hit the back issues bin. I don't mind because it's not much more than what I would have paid if I had it on a pull-list, and I've found quite nice books sitting in those bins. I don't think it's unreasonable for a LCS to see where prices on books are if you are some random guy hitting up a store just to pilfer their rare and overlooked back issues. It would be a different story if you're a regular there, and/or you're buying pattern is something like comicalgems.
  22. Haha, that's like asking what's the next series of winning lottery numbers.
