  1. These are awesome! Are you still reserving spots by any chance...?
  2. Got a nice Avengers 1 from David. Super nice guy and easy to work with.
  3. Congrats! I also finished my run this weekend with my pickup of the Annual in 8.0.
  4. Yeah, you need something better, so then you can sell this one to me Well I am actively looking...
  5. Hell Yeah! I think I just had a religious moment looking at those books! Thanks! OK, since I seem to be on the right track, I'll post a few more for consideration... I'll admit it, I'm a perfectionist and scanning through CGC slabs isn't easy, but so far the results look pretty good. (thumbs u Beauties one an all! Love the 10. Big fan of the S/K run on the title.
  6. Hell Yeah! I think I just had a religious moment looking at those books!
  7. Here's my current copy of 86, hammered for a 1/2 tear on the back cover.
  8. That is criminal that someone would trim that book. It was high-grade before the trim almost certainly. So for a .5 or so, someone forever alters that book and potentially places a book out there that could easily screw someone. Without our trusty caretaker Tom keeping it out of circulation, of course... Beautiful book Tom, one of the ones I desperately need an upgrade for.
  9. Good Lord! Is that your copy? Yes it is my copy...don't get TOO excited...it's a trim job all 3 sides...but it's so freaking beautiful in hand I just have to keep it... ( and keep it out of bijoubaby's and robojo's hands... ) Still gorgeous! But you're right, that book is dangerous in the wrong hands.
  10. Nice additions Michael! Thanks Tom. Not quite the additions that you have made, but I do what I can. Here's a few more. Really thought this one was going to go a point higher... And the best 84 I've ever owned.
  11. Picked this up from Phil. Just came back as a 4.0 from CGC. I'm very happy with it. Especially with the nice surprise I found inside the cover. And one of the best centerfolds ever...
  12. Picked this one up a few months ago. Just too good of a deal to turn down. Even for PLOD. I love Schommy war covers, even on the 2nd-tier titles.
  13. Pretty nice 96, one of the last books I picked up for my run.
  14. A few books I've picked up lately. Nothing extraordinary, but hey... Very few signed 84s on census. And a ragged 83 I just couldn't turn down at the price.
  15. Well, I think I know where the restored 9.2 copy of #85 went: The infamous bijoubaby appears to have cracked the slab and is now marketing it as a 9.6 on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120737557453&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123#ht_500wt_1020 I like this disclaimer: "Returns are accepted if I've significantly misrepresented the item." Representing a PLOD 9.2 as an admittedly color touched 9.6 counts, doesn't it? Sigh. I applaud those of you (trmoore54 for example) that proactively buy the PLODs to keep them out of the hands of sellers like this one. I sent this message via eBay: "This appears to be the same color touched 9.2 that went unsold on Comiclink. Will you include the CGC label for the buyer, to maintain the accuracy of the census? The auction title is misleading, to say the least. You might want to change it to mention it's a PLOD..." bijoubaby's response: He doesn't deny the copy's origin. If a few people begin to believe the listing, this could get ugly...He might get away with it. I just sent him a message as well... Jerk is barely literate and obviously trying to screw someone.
  16. Yup. 124 was indeed a warehouse find and the easiest to find in 9.4 and up. Followed by issue 121, another issue I believe was found in great numbers.
  17. Rich and I have had that conversation regarding 108. It is also my favorite cover.
  18. Niiiize! I dunno why, but that 100 sure seems to be a tough book...
  19. Picked this one up at the Richmond con this weekend. Always have loved this cover.
