After the hurricane destroyed us in 2018 I was able to make one claim with cia. Took a bit but they paid and I’m still with them today

I had tried to buy it at a CAF sale last year, but it sold before the guy responded to me

that's a lot of pages...surely this will be a hard theft to fence...I hope the community is on the lookout for you!

I won the only piece I was interested in for less than it last sold for when I missed out...pretty happy I suppose.

Admittedly it just isn’t cost effective for us anymore. But I still love to visit San Diego when I can (almost moved to Coronado after the hurricane 2018)

To be so young again

1988 was my first sdcc. Attended or set up every year until covid stymied the streak. Haven’t been last few years and not sure I will go again, but never say never.

Thanos quest cover at 140,144. Im a surfer only kind of guy, so I didn’t bid (was other considerations as well why) but man, I really liked it

I think he said he had sold the collection by 2014 so I doubt he was buying in 2016?

I’ve had lots of interesting requests for some of my pieces of art. Heck I just got an unsolicited offer for a piece I just posted to caf. but I don’t sell or collect to trade/sell. So I have been blessed, so far, with being able to be a “black hole”. That said, I was forced to sell my comic collection post hurricane destruction a few years ago, so as long as, as others have stated, it’s a valid reason to sell, I’m good. But if it is a manipulation to acquire to sell, shame!

Big bummer. We just went to dinner a couple of weeks ago at a relatively local con.

I did the SC con this weekend and honestly I’m in the same boat. I repriced all my inventory to around current fmv. Many books I put out were upto 20% or more below my cost. Any that I was 25% or more upside down I left at home and will have to ride out. So I’m trying to balance turn versus hold. This was my first con since June 2022, so totally my fault for not keeping up with market.

It graded a cgc 7.0
