  1. NFL caliber across the boards...best D I have seen in a while (yes, better than LSU's, but I will have more perspective on that in a few days)
  2. If all original a loose fig sells for $75-150 depending on condition...typical mib runs $200-500 and depending on whether a 75 or 79 card can be $500-1000+ carded
  3. shhh that is classified even to this day. To speak of openly invites that which you wish not experience !
  4. My advice is to buy Gaines for entertainment purposes only. Prices have been steadily declining for years and no reason for that Trend to change Ample reprint supply has surely contributed to demand/price decline
  5. Cats I fear you are (as ever) correct. I will pull for the magpies though (thumbs u
  6. Make sure you lett Russ (XavierLogan) know that they will be up for sale. He needs some of those for sure yes, that was already stipulated
  7. my guess is missouri , nc state and va tech
  8. I had that one a few years back. It's really sweet! To my knowledge, it is one of the earliest known SF books that I have been able to confirm as existing. I Think I owned it right after West...for about 3 years...then sold it on heritage a year + ago...was one of the last centaurs I held onto!
  9. Should bring 25 grand or more! Rarer than the Tec'140! i doubt tec 142 is rarer than 140....perception only...it is offered for sale in the public eye less than 140 due to the value difference (and thus far less copies are slabbed, again due to the value to fee ratio)...but at cons and such, I actually see more 142's than 140's, so not rarer, but very rare in 9.4 and the MH copy on Tec 142 has "issues" interesting
  10. again, has to do with value and demand...tec 140 has greater demand and greater value and thus is showcased more than 142...but this past year at sdcc (since you mentioned it) I counted 4 tec 140's for sale and there were no less than 7 tec 142's for sale (mostly in boxes)...I bought 2 of the tec 142's , but passed on most others I saw...you generally do have to dig for 142's, I have found, though most "major" dealers will put up on a wall... same with tec 226...there are just as many out there, but far less demand means far less sales and far less "visual" availability....as mentioned, it is a "relative" thing, but in terms of straight numbers, both 142 and 226 exist in equal to or great quantities than their more highly sought out counterparts, imo...you just have to hunt a little harder for them (thumbs u
  11. that is an excellent question... How about Superman #14? Lots of copies, but tough to find because everybody wants a copy of this classic cover! a good book for sure, but supply is relatively available...heck , last year I had 17 copies for sale, and while I tried to buy every copy I could, there were just too many for sale..so, great demand, but plenty of public supply (thumbs u

  13. I am putting together a run of True 1-84... 37 is a good one... That will be a fun set to put together and to read Gator (thumbs u I have about 65 of the 84 issues and you are correct...not only is it "fun", there are some cool stories (and some stinkers too) and of course, 55 is the first ........ Sad Sack errr... I mean "weener"
  14. that is an excellent question... golden age wise, my guess is one of them is captain america 46...really no shortage of copies, but they do rarely seem to come up for sale (or stay on someone's available wall long) because collectors do hold onto them... another one is tec 31...there is a surprisingly large supply, but fairly scarce you see for sale for any length of time

  16. in the context of comic collecting, a "grail" is an issue(s) of a comic that you most desire above all others, and actively hope to obtain And more accurately, there shouldn't be one on every dealers wall at a comic show either. The original grail wasn't easy to find and it was as scarce as hen's teeth. Dear Gator, Just out of curiosity, what was the original grail? Also, what are hen's teeth? Merci, Chretien Christians believe the original grail or "holy" grail to be the receiving of Holy Communion, or possibly God's Grace... there is also a celtic version, that is largely discredited by modern interpretation.. at one time, hen's teeth refered to the rarity of an item...however, since scientists and geneticists have successfully grown teeth on a chicken, I guess they ain't all that rare any more now, I personally believe coitus with jessica biel to be the "grail" that most men should strive for...and if one is lucky, she will have hen teeth marks on her posterior

The original grail wasn't easy to find and it was as scarce as hen's teeth. I am good either way...a grail to each collector is different...it is defined by a myriad of variables... so, just because joe blow has a grail of hulk 181 in cgc 9.0 (available on every dealers wall, for the most part) doesn't make it any less of a grail than say Amazing man 26 to me...it is, what it is...an individuals' most desired comic that presumably can at some point be obtained at some price, if circumstances work to that favor
