  1. Imran and Andre and the "new" George and Rick
  2. Check it out, I ran across the message where we were discussing the WW #1 "D" copy, a little more than a year ago. What a difference a year makes. Anyway, if the owner paid $7K, they still made a few grand on the deal. the market does change, that is for sure!
  3. I heard joe peschi was up for the role of hal jordan
  4. I have 13 or the first 20 I have #'s 1, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19 & 20 I need #'s 2, 3, 6, 11, 12*, 14 & 15 *the #12 I have has a "D" written on it but it wasn't certified as a Crippen copy when it was graded in 2002. I'm planning to resubmit it to have it checked in case it is a "D" copy that was certified prior to the pedigree. "d" copies were not "d" copies due to any "d" on the cover, but the D-xxxxx code on the interior first page... my guess is cgc would not have missed it, even in 2002, so probably not worth spending the money to resub, unless you just want too
  5. what is funny is last year I think, bob had me offer like 10 or 12K to the owner, and he turned it down...now, to list on clink at 10K, and only net 9K, well, maybe he misplaced my email! great pick up for bob though!
  6. and it was gone in a new york minute too! congrats!
  7. we don't wanna bounce no comic books
  8. we will only have 3 gridwalls in SD (versus our normal 4 at other cons)...and we will have some "table" books ( you know, the action 1's, tec 27's, marvel1 's etc)... 1 SA gridwall, 2 GA gridwalls so, only the "good" stuff will be there
  9. come to sdcc booth 1206 (I hope to have it "done" and through cgc and to me by then)
  10. it hasn't come back yet, but hope to have it by SDCC no walk thru? it is making a pit stop first
  11. it hasn't come back yet, but hope to have it by SDCC
  12. I have a beaut of a copy right now, that I might give a little peek at soon
  13. my philosophy is I will sell any book in my collection, if the price is right...at any time...reason being is I love to collect comics, and buying and selling them is part of my collecting philosophy... the hunt is every bit as important to me! that said, I "hoard" superman 14's and batman 47's...however, I have recently sold every last batman 47 I have, and I will be selling about 10 copies of superman 14 over the next few months... why?...so I can start hoarding them again
  14. let me reiterate, the only thing that will get the 20 or so recurring copies of tec 38 currently in the market, "out" of the market is a substantial price correction... no movie is going to do it, imo
  15. Nice (and hard to get a hold of) book! supply does seem to be soft these days, but just 3 years ago, I had a half dozen tec 168's and passed on a dozen others... I guess maybe the dark knight movie interest absorbed them all...
  16. I'm curious. Are there really a lot more Tec 38's than 35's or are there just a lot more available because everyone is holding onto the pre-Robins? I also seem to see a lot of PLOD Tec 38's. Does the gap close much between the two when just comparing unrestored copies? there are a LOT more tec 38's than pre robin tecs (thumbs u
  17. Unfortunately the only way there will be a resurgence in demand for tec 38 is if the price is dropped significantly....there is just to much supply There is virtually "no" supply of say tec 35 so of course price is higher. ..just basic economics.... In golden age the value of the book rarely coincides with the value of the content...all perceived supply and demand
  18. Not my cup of tea but a pretty nice copy. This almost qualifies as a "Hello Pal" moment part deux. I like this Millie cover but the Hello Pal makes me want to collect stamps. Metro has the Church copy. I heard it was the only comic Edgar stored upside down so he didn't have to see the cover while going through his books. request for encore heard, and granted. we are all about our adoring fans.
  19. I think folks mistake "lack of interest at a price point" and "perceived availability" as "under appreciated"... I don't know of anyone other than ciorac that doesn't appreciate tec 38 so I don't know how it could be underappreciated... now, "under"purchased, appears so... the problem is that this book, early on, got priced so much higher than surrounding issues (due to robin's intro), that folks are now more resistant to pay what is perceived as inflated premiums for a relatively "common" (by early tec standards) issue... now, 15-20 years ago, that wasn't the case from my experience (tec 38 would sell over, say, tec 31, in a heartbeat), so I don't think anything has changed other than relative perception the book is as important as virtually an detective issue...
  20. good looking 2.5, regardless (thumbs u
  21. That is beautiful, congratulations Thank you, and thanks for helping me post the pic this just sold in heritage last month for about $5K, is that where you got it
