  1. This was my "keeper" copy until a NYC Detective called me up one day to let me know that it was stolen property. I bought it off eBay from a guy who stole it from Metro. pretty book I onlyl have a low grade 17 and a real nice 22 (the "impossible" cover) that I paid out the nose for (someone on heritage must have really wanted it)
  2. I would love to have a comic room dedicated to just "comics"
  3. that 13 was a tough one...I think I got it from Win, and then Bedrock got it from me, then it went to roy... I never found a nice unrestored copy
  4. Happy endings. nothing like a friend giving you a happy ending
  5. actually, action 23 was available the first week of Feb, and the supes 4 the second week... I know mikes database lists action 23 as the 22nd, but that is incorrect (thumbs u
  6. It was Arlin Ira Fegley's collection or was this CDNP 22 acquired by another collector who assembled the first app / #1 collection? from a collector that assembled the collection...was not a AIF
  7. Red, We must be buying from the same bargain bin. I have a lot of those Arlin Ira Fegley (AIF) books. I heard that he was a collector in Jersey who died 10-15 years ago and the books were auctioned off with the rest of his estate. Do you know the real story? He liked crime comics a lot. Several of my Crime and Punishment issues have his signature. The interior of the books usually are white or off white. bb Thanks for the info. All I had heard before was his name and that he was a well known collector. I bought this copy raw from PokerKid, who bought it from QualityComix. I wonder how many other people owned it between me and Arlin? I sold it as a VG 4.0 It was purchased in a collection about 2 years ago from a long time collector who only wanted #1s and first appearances. It was a massive golden age collection of almost every first appearance imaginable except Tec 27. you're saying it had hello pal 1??? no damn way! don't recall an action 1 but that is the collection the marvel 1 oct ext copy came from, if I recall...and it also had a supes 1 that was eventually graded 3.0 blue (thumbs u
  8. Make no mistake, what happened did happen...just one of those hobby black eyes that are better off left in the past imo Though if anyone asks me in person I would share what I know...

  11. Didn't he slab it because he intended to sell it? (thumbs u
  12. Rick, I asked this in the other thread but I don't think anyone responded; is that the PGX's 5.0 Superman #1 that sold on Comic Connect a while back? I know that you do not think very highly of PGX so my question is; why not crack it out to sell raw or re-sub it to CGC? yep...actually, the book has been cracked and will be on the way to matt nelson to replace the missing coupon...a buddy of mine has pretty much "bought" it, I was just showing it off with 2 others

  16. It's probably a good thing I don't go to these Cons, 'cause I'm not sure how I'd react when I ran across a display like that. Tears? Drool? Other bodily fluids? And I'm guessing that Wonder #20 is out of my league? wonder 20,crippen ped 8.0, priced to sell at 495 (thumbs u
