  1. trust me, you have plenty of time! At least until Summer! of 2009! rick
  2. hello all... I put 6 Golden Age Batman, all CGC 5.0 or better (blue) on ebay (non VCC sales)...all with no reserves starting at $9.99 (I like to live dangerously)... linky New Force GA Batman list...9.99 starting bids, no reserve thanks rick
  3. nice book... I suspect after MMC, I will have to tackle Cap, HT and Subby, with a little Blonde Phantom for good measure (just got issue 18, and I love it!) rick
  4. you JJBee, that is one cool swank of a book...congrats! rick
  5. posted in the timely thread, but since my passion for MMC continues to grow exponentially, I figured multiple placements would make me feel good rick
  6. I had remembered having a copy from years ago, and I was looking for a GA group that my 4 year old and I could enjoy together, without me having to worry about him handling (like the batman or tec run)....funny stuff fit the bill...it is a 79 issue run, with dodo and frog (and blackie the bear, as my son likes to call him, etc)...full of interesting 40's/50's animal humor rick That's pretty awesome getting the collection for your son. I can see his love of comics beginning to take place. Well, he has a lot of rare and expensive books to look after when he grows up. Such a lucky kid. ahh...such a lucky dad, I say rick
  7. have gotten a few parcels back from cgc...my box with the 3,4 and few others is MIA (it is around here somewhere) so I will try to locate and take a pic rick
  8. 9. I know you have Action 1, Superman 1 and Detective 140...is #4 the one I think it is? rick
  10. hello all... in my personal collection (I consider Golden Age only) , I have maybe 500-600 books (runs of Detective, Batman, Marel Mystery Comics, Whiz, Captain Marvel, etc)...in my "reading" collection, I have maybe 30,000 (that spans the 60's- current...yep, I still read 40 titles a month or so...it is about 100 long boxes and stacks and stacks of diamond boxes)....but I have a local warehouse operation (new comics and toys) and I seem to sell off a box of books a month, so it has been dwindaling over the years...I think I had more than 50,000 comics in 1999)... at one point in the early 90's, I had only 2 GA runs, Action 1-100 and Batman 1-100, but I had pretty much completed the entire Silver Age to current (Marvel and DC, superheroes only, Marvel like ASM, FF, JIM, TOS, Silver Surfer, and on the DC side, pretty much all), and have slowly through the years, sold off most of the SA (like my compolete NM run of Gold Key Star Trek 1-61), as my business grew and I needed "capitol", and recently , as my love for "collecting" GA has be reignited...I will never complete the GA I want to (not enough time or money), so I suspect I will continue to sell off the remaining Silver and Bronze (and I likely still have them all) that I have not even looked at in 10 years.. rick
  11. Where's the slap some sense into somebody graemlin. Detective #27 is a no-brainer. Marvel Comics # 1 is a grail for me............Batman just doesn't do much for me. Blasphemy!!! ugh Fuel, I was going to say the same thing rick
  12. you owned the nicest graded tec 27 there is...wasn't it a 9.2 restored? everything is downhill from there (even the 8.5!) rick
  13. hello all... ok, it ain't subby, but I suspect there are not too many folks out there that have a near complete (missing 3 of 79 in the pic, but one-59- is on the way...down to 2) set of DC humor Funny Stuff....my 4 year old litterally "begs" me to read him one every day...we are upto issue 24 right now.... rick
  14. having our pricing standards stink, sometimes, doesn't it G? rick
  15. since I already have the tec 27, and I was high bidder on the MC 1 at $34K +BP (someone bumped me by $1K), I go with MC1 rick
  16. Subby for me all the way. He is my favorite Timely character well, in that case, i offer you this, and i trust he's your favorite Atlas character as well: some of the nicest cover reproductions I have seen...really makes those GI Joe combat #1's look like the real thing! rick
  17. well, this one does have a decent spine roll...I guess I won't get reslabbed! thanks Filter, appreciate your help (as always) rick
  18. hello all... got these two back from cgc this week...and I was "suprised" at the MMC 10 being in what appears to be an oversized slab?...was this a mistake on cgc's part, or can anyone tell me a reason why they would use a magazine size slab? just curious, as the darn thing won't fit in my box, so I want it reslabbed for consitency, but I am wondering if I have to pay for it, or if CGC messed up and will correct? rick
  19. hello all... these recently acquired beauts are on the way to cgc for entombing...I read through all of them, but sometimes missed out on stories continuing from a previous issue I don't yet have...c'est la vie rick
  20. I would take Suby and Torchy over Suby and Angel
