  1. hello all.. it is exciting, isn't it.... rick
  2. hello all... I did say once he got to "know" us....just over a month ago, a bunch of us met over at ciorac's house, and there were millions of dollars of comics in one room, all being shared for each others enjoyment...so, there is a precedent...admittedly, this group of folks have been "brothers" for a long time...but, it is possible ! rick
  3. BZ... So, back to the annual meeting at BZ's house....after you get to know a few of us "comic geeks", I say we really try to make this happen! please rick
  4. hello all... a decoupage box is just a basic box (any kind, shoe box, etc) that you have cut out pictures and glued/taped on...my kids had to make one for school rick
  5. I think those are the comics Gary. It just looks like the window aperture on the top shelf is too small to display the entire cover. No, No. Gary is right. Those ARE decoupage boxes I made out of the covers. It won't hurt the value of the comics, will it?
  6. hello all... BZ, absolutely STUNNING...impressive, unbelievable, etc, are not strong enough adjectives.... may I be so bold as to ask this of you...INVITE ME OVER FOR SOME GEEKING! what do you say, party at BZ house? rick
  7. joe, some real nice additions to your hulk run! rick
  8. <cue theme from Jaws> STEVE I am still greatly anticipating some more "group" shots... rick
  9. well, I would naturally have to do a backgroud check, and I would want to make sure your son is willing to share his lunch money, but hey, let the kids be kids rick
  10. hello all... now Paul, I have do have 3 daughters, the youngest is 8 and she does dig younger comic loving blonds! mmm rick
  11. Don't worry, it's been bought already. I know who owns it now. hello all... didn't Primetime buy/trade it at Wondercon a few weeks ago? rick Yes, I did and it's getting slabbed right now... Ahh, let us know what grade it received. Good luck with that and I hope you get a good grade on it. 'yes, I will be very curious how CGC grades it...I think we all stated our grade considerations when Dino had it in the forumn for sale.... please post the good news when you get back! rick
  12. If you did it naked it would be ok. Just don't tell us. hello all... I already did that, but don't tell bill...hehe, our little secret rick
  13. love those Stamp comics....I had a few years ago, but they didn't look anything like yours
  14. Comici gratia comicorum "Comics for the sake of comics" (for you non-Latin speaking guys) A sentiment I think many people here share. Yes i should have used the plural (for you folks i made the word up, but it should be with an "i" like alumnus and alumni) but do you think the accusative form is better than the possessive? I now think the Boards have been brought to a whole new level as we discuss Latin grammar. jb veni, vidi, vici.... amo, amos, amant (reliving 12th grade latin!) rick amo, amas, amat...(Sir! You do NOT know me well enough to be so persumputous! (Amo= I love) By the way do you think we should use the neuter form as "Comicum"? okay, okay.....i have run that into the ground no wonder I didn't get an A in Latin

  17. I certainly hope to. This evening we discovered a squirrel has moved into our attic so I will definitely be busy for part of the day dealing with that. Where do I rent a decent (non lethal) trap on a Sunday? I have read that rodents love to eat comics. (Just look at all of the great GA books with rodent chew defects.) I'll bet if you put your Superman #1 in the attic, you'll find the squirrel in no time. And then I won't have to be so envious of you any more. Two birds with one stone and all that.
  18. ACK! I mean thankyou. That's a lot to think about. Maybe I'll hold back some images and show others. very true words, but....that said, this is a "community" board, and we all love to discuss funny books and visually share our collections, etc with others....carey, win, berk, ponseti, parker, moore, evans, etc (I am not intentionally leaving anyone out, I could go on and on...we all know the boards)...all have graciously posted scans of incredible books for us to discuss and enjoy and "oogle" over...BangZ has stated he is not in the market to sell the books, and the "buzz" is true...but, to dangle them, and then keep them covered up for us "geeks" not to be able to enjoy, seems to not be the choice I would make...but, I respect whatever you choose BZ....my personal preference, is show them! (especially a nice tec 27, or Supes 1, etc)...let us enjoy in your great collection!, otherwise, outside of your own enjoyment (and in 25 years you have likely had a lot of pleasure from them), what is the point rick
  19. a good one, no doubt...I "bought" one about 3 months ago, but have been waiting for the seller to have cgc'd to confirm not trimmed...he emailed me this week that it should be about a week, till he gets it back, so i am close rick
  20. so bill convinces me that FY1 is a great book...so I buy one, was going to post it, but with the MH copy right above me, what is the point...congrats billy boy
