  3. TOMB OF DRACULA 10, FIRST BLADE! So you know the rules, no probs or HOS. 1st in thread or PM gets book. PayPal, Check, MO, shipping is domestic (U.S), international is extra. Kudos thread: Http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5488496#Post5488496
  4. The cost of removing those labels is just like removing tape, not cheap! And they are a real PITA.
  5. Unfortunately true, everyone thinks a little is good, so a lot is great. It takes a lot less than most who are learning think. To address OP, too much humidity can cause waviness, defect reversion, rusted staples, shrinking, ripples, and bad smell.
  6. No, I don't condone aligning the spine beyond how it was originally, but without the back scan I wouldn't assume it was. Usually a Avengers 1 pages will stick out a little but I can't see them in the before, which generally indicates a spine roll. I will however take your word for it if you saw the back cover, and the pages were not fanned out.
  7. How do we know the Avengers 1 example didn't have a pre-existing spine roll without a back scan? And if it did have a spine roll, am I understanding the general public would rather keep the spine rolls then see the pages stick out? By the way, Pages sticking out on early Silver age is normal from production cuts.
  8. Yeah, 2 others and I went in on a Airbnb, and my portion works out to $100 a night! Got my own room, full kitchen, living room, dining room.
  9. The grade CGC gives the book is on it's apparent condition. Your confusion is probably related to the fact that quite often restored books look nicer than the grade they receive. Color touch can make a book look really good at arm's length, but under grading and inspection you can see all the stress lines and defects that still keep the grade down. Also the grade would depend on if work was done on the interior of the cover, and possibly the pages.
  10. You got Airbnb right across the street? I ended up on the other side of the zoo!
  11. So then it is really back to the last minute again already, just when I was hoping for a 10 day TaT.
  12. Well, that didn't last long. Standard received 4/03 shipped 4/12 (9 days), but a standard received 4/17 is at 12 days, and still in verified.
  13. It's official! Hero Restoration is going! We won't have a table, going to be on the move getting signatures (CGC authorized facilitator), and shopping for books. If you would like to meet up for a drop off or pickup PM me.
  14. This book clearly needs structural work. Don't recommend signature or pressing.
  15. I had a Amazing Spider-Man 1 with a spine split sealed and was a 4.0. After removing the resto, the split went from the bottom edge all the way to the top staple, and dropped to a 2.5.
  16. I'm starting to see NG submissions come in to be cracked, and sent to other company for a .3, seems to be getting popular.
  17. Seems as though any book with glossy pages 2000+ does not get any. Seen a lot of mid 80's through 90's with one piece.
  18. I understand that point, and if it was my book I would just leave it. As far as anything happening, almost every choice invites risk.
  19. Personally I think you sent the books to the wrong presser, a well pressed book will not look pressed other than no pressable defects found.
  20. Show hasn't started yet, and I'm already meeting celebrities.
  21. So, if you marry a wrap or the cover, a qualified label you will get. It doesn't matter whether the staples line up, and it is very rare they ever do line up. Tough choice which to marry, I would be inclined to base the decision initially on which pages were in better condition.
