  1. Bought a Real Life #16, and it was a perfect transaction.
  2. Have you found any studies that show LED's don't emit any UV, or if they do how much? I looked and was unsuccessful.
  3. If you really want to display them, UV film is affordable, and you can apply it to the window and the top loaders.
  4. The truth is never silly, and Marvel Premiere 1 is actually the First Appearance of Warlock. I'm just teasing you. I have no issues. I thought Fantastic Four #67 was first appearance of Warlock. According to CPG, MP#1 is origin.
  5. What else can I add that others haven't already said? Just that my transaction with him is the best comic purchase experience I have ever had. We all need to make a buck, but clearly that is not his top priority.
  6. My first SS. Signed by Michael Golden, Tony Moore, and signed and sketched by Charlie Adlard.
  7. My first SS. Signed by Michael Golden, Tony Moore, and signed and sketched by Charlie Adlard.
  8. Here's one of my copies. I can't find any defects on it, not even NCBC's.
  9. Man, I am just stunned. From the other stories I heard about pre-sales, it didn't seem obvious this book would now sell for what it is. I was bummed when they told me the limit was two per person (Obviously some people got around that). If I could have got more I would be selling them right now. I am still debating about selling one right now and skip the pressing, shipping and CGC fees to see if it grades 9.8 or not.
  10. Is this one of those deals where people are going crazy ATM but down the road they will drop in value? I ask this because as a GA and SA collector, that concept is foreign to me.
  11. So, I am a noob when it comes to moderns but I am gradually getting sucked in. First with my Fantastic four run, then WD 100 common variants, next a WD 100 1/200 sketch caught my eye while I was pressing it for a customer and bought it. I was at WWP and got one WDP and two NMP. WD is already heading to ECCC for SS. I was going to keep one NM blue and one SS ECCC. I have been follow some of the sales for these books on ebay and WoW ! My copies look perfect except for the waves, and I plan on pressing them to get those out. Now for my question, why haven't I seen anyone selling them on the boards?
  12. That's weird. My values from 8/22 are still scheduled for grading. Oh shoot, I just double checked and I wrote the wrong date. The correct date is 9/04/12, I need to go back to OP and change that.
  13. So, the original reason I dropped by this thread was to post my turnaround time on a value tier that shipped today, CGC received it on 9/4. That is 90 business days not including Con days or holidays, much sooner then I was expecting.
  14. Could you see the grades on the website? Did they tell you on the phone? Or could you just tell from the website that they passed a pre-screen? I submitted the books under Metropolis's account. They were able to look up the invoices to see the grades on the ones that were completed. So the books had been shipped? None of them are shipped yet. On a hunch, I called Metro and asked them to look up the invoice numbers. Who called and got the grades? I called Metro, I think they looked up the grades online and sent a copy to my e-mail. Did Metro give you any grades on book less than 9.8?
  15. No doubt it has been already said by many, but Sharon has great communication, timely shipping, and great packaging.
  16. Sceptic. I, for one, welcome our CGC overlords. I know that increasing rates, charging for graders' notes, putting more ads on the site, not releasing grades before shipping and purchasing Classics Inc., will only help our rightful leaders get back on track with TATs during the coming year.
  17. This made me laugh, I mean come on, it is too funny. 28 pages and 6 hours PST to go.
  18. What throws me off is production defects. I hear often that CGC doesn't down grade for these unless they are severe. The question that I keep wondering about is the bindary tears at the corners of the spine. If a modern book is perfect but for those tears will CGC give a 10, 9.8 or lower if the tears are worse than usual. I don't think I have seen one modern that didnt have at least one corner with that defect.
  19. When I was a kid, I lived in Milpitas California and there was only one comic store I knew of and this was back in 1977. Too bad I can’t remember the name of the place but as a kid I was more interested in back issue's and he had plenty. Thinking about early comic stores reminded me of an article I read a few months ago. http://www.pointparknewsservice.com/2012/04/23/eides-entertainment-celebrates-40th/ Also found their OSPG ad; I have never been there but it looks like a huge store. If I am ever in their town I will stop buy as they claim to be "The World Greatest Comic Shop".
  20. Want to get a Crain sketch done in Sept. Post here your interest, we are building up an order for SS at the Rose City Comic Con. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5806975#Post5806975
  21. Adrian is a great guy. Worked with him on a trade and was pleasent to deal with. Everything went as promised, hope to do business again with him soon.
  22. I don't sell to often but thought it would be good to have some references here to help with my occasional sales.
