  1. Beautiful, historical and rare Opper. That's wonderful stuff. The breadth of his career is astonishing. This is from 1901 -- cartoons about the soon-to-be-assassinated Wm. McKinley's cozy relationship with the "trusts." Opper was already well established at this point. Opper is great! Picked up this weird 3" by 5" metal tray a while back. Is this Opper or someone ripping him off?
  2. Spent too much time scanning and posting Christmas comics last year. This year I'll post one... a few half-size Christmas giveaways. Some are listed. Spot the dupe. Check out the rare Christmas comics earlier in this thread, and if you have any of your own, post away! Merry Christmas to all the people who share their great comic books with the world through these boards!
  3. Comic to orient newcomers to Pearl Harbor, presumably published before the attack. With original mailer.
  4. More comics by and about the real superheroes... First is actually a postcard folder with individual comic panels. Second is a camp comic paper from occupied Germany.
  5. If you've made it this far, here's an off-topic booklet of cartoons with a pic of Veronica Lake on the back cover to boost morale.
  6. Training For The Trenches Lieut. Alban B. Butler Jr. 1917
  7. Pulse Of The Yards Ray E. Russell 1945 More signatures on facing page.
  8. Fantastic books! Comics Magazine #1 Never have seen a copy of that Star Ranger before, either.
  9. Leatherhead In Korea SSgt Norval E. Packwood, Jr. 1952 Hardcover
  10. I found a couple by women. Here's one... Life With The Navy by Navy Nora (Dorothy Bond) 1943
  11. The Evolution of A Man-O-Warsman H.O. Peterson 1911
  12. Incidents In The Life Of A B.R.O. Signed "Chan" 1945
  13. Willie Wingflap by Dennis McCarthy Board covers, red spiral binding 1943?
  14. So cool. That must have been a really important souvenir to be cared for and preserved in that shape. Imagine the memories behind that comic.
  15. Great book! Nice shape, early #1 (April 1938 - that means they were making this in 1937), and a great cover!
  16. Hope you crack that .5 out of its case and give it a good read!
  17. This booklet has one illustration per page above some text, so it's more like an illustrated book than a comic book. But check out where and when it was produced. Makes me wonder if it was done under duress by the captors for propaganda purposes, because it's a pretty sober tale of capture and imprisonment.
