I'm really enjoying your journal!
Although I think I might be hard pressed now to write something of my own...
-
Just catching up - Sorry to hear / read that you'll have to sell some of your books, but I absolutely love those original Gwen sketches!
-
Very easy to deal with... Jack paid right away and is a pleasure to deal with.
Thanks again!
-
They are variants made specifically for coloring that CGC will allow you to slab with your name as the one doing it. A genius marketing decision for both companies.
Time to renew a sub with CGC and get busy!
-
Just catching up on your journal... nice acquisitions and congratulations on that FF48!
That looks really nice with the Green label.
-
I love that copy of Champion Comics 2 you have!
I was looking for a copy a couple of years ago... just a fun cover.
Very nice assortment of books you've compiled.
-
Those are some great copies you have, Robot Man... thanks for posting those!
My greatest GA comic regret was not pursuing the HA Prize Comics 18 more aggressively from a couple of years ago.
If anyone has any copy for sale... PLEASE let me know!

Merry Christmas Ed!
I really love this new journal and the (Ed)ucation it provides on the EC books... you know, it's stuff like this that sucks me right back in.
Looking forward to more entries and keep up the great work!

I sold my CGC 3.0 copy a couple of years ago and that's another sale that I regret... bought it here on the boards for $750 and then sold it about a year later.
I think it went across the pond.
(Might still have a picture of it somewhere)

ASM 40 and BA 12 in those conditions are both solid pick ups IMO...
-
Just completed a sale with Nate and he's great to deal with... very polite and courteous I wouldn't ever hesitate to deal with him again.
Welcome to the boards Nate!
-
An absolute pleasure to do business with... kind, courteous and lighting fast payment.
Thanks again Randall!

Just caught up on your posts... you have a museum and I love it!
Your statue collection is very impressive.

Nice thread! Great books!
Thank you
BTW, there has been one thing I've been wondering about. It seems that two Conan #1 are quite similar - is it the same book?
The first one is 0015782005, graded in 2000, scanned in 2011:
And then there's 1108403001 from 2012:
None of the other 36 Conan the Barbarian #1 books look identical to eachother, or maybe I'm just going blind
Check the bottom staple, the cover orientation and alignment - of course different scanners have been used, so colors and shadows may differ.
I love the cover to Conan 1 and every time I see one, it takes a lot to not pick them up.
Anyways, I think these are two different books...
At the top, in the[font:Comic Sans MS] 'NEW! FIRST TIME IN COMIC BOOK FORM!' title (on the old label book) it looks like the last exclamation point is very slightly cut off on the top at the end of [font:Comic Sans MS]'FORM!'.

Wow, that new room is quite awesome and I love the way you're displaying so much. It's like beautiful, organized chaos! I could see going into that room and not leaving for hours upon hours! (thumbs u
Pretty much what I was thinking as well!
A couple of questions...
What are the stacked boxes above the books here?
And who did the Gwen Stacy portrait drawing in the middle? I like that a lot!
-
I'd love to see a complete 9.8 set of Camelot 3000...
Congratulations on the new acquisitions!
I also admire how you're very forgiving in the books that you simply want and enjoy to have in your collection. That mindset has actually had an effect on my collecting habits as well.

Looking at GPA, I'd say on average, single CGC'd Bats 1 pages go for around $450. Just doing the quick math on that, it may be more cost effective to try and locate a complete (or close to) coverless copy. Again, based on GPA, you might be able to find one in the $4000 - $6000 range.
Good luck with the Action 15!

I really enjoyed your thoughts about a 'unique' collection and thank you for the mention. I would certainly say that yours is quite unique in its own right and I loved the story behind your Dennis the Menace books. That's great!
Great looking X-Men 142, btw!
-
Good choices and tough books! Best of luck... I've always wanted a Showcase 4 myself.
-
In terms of what you're looking to acquire with your collection, do you have a particular book or books in mind?
Just a feeling here, but if you're looking for something to salt away, I think a low to mid-grade copy of Daredevil 1 might be a good place to start. That book is sort of unique in the same vein as Hulk 1, Fantastic Four 1 and X-Men 1 as SA Marvel books go... the first appearance of a character in their self titled, ongoing series.
-
That's a great looking X-Men 142... perfect centering and white pages!
I didn't realize that sellers can cancel transactions after you win an item. So what's the point of listing it as an auction?
Sorry that happened to you.
-
Gorgeous set you've put together...
I really like the cover to that #25 and it's nice to see your update!
-
Gabriel, I'm not sure if I asked this before but do you have a subscription to GPAnalysis?
For $10.95 a month, it's helped me immensely when making decisions regarding buying and selling. I'm not saying that I haven't overpaid and under sold myself when it comes to books but it certainly helps.
Good luck!

Congratulations on the bookend 9.8s for your MT98 and 99... great looking copy on that 121 and your ASM31 looks terrific as well!
I really like the cover of that issue and it's starting to climb a little.
