Saw a couple of these at the current Comic Link auction. At first I thought the art was ok but something seemed kind of off. When I looked closer I realized that it looks like her left leg was growing out of her howler for some reason. The composition is just really not put together in the right way.

I mean... why accept to release it as a publisher? (shrug)

Bronze is really starting to heat up-- although we're seeing an adjustment from Pandemic inflation-- but I would get a price guide and do some research.  I agree in mid grade (4.0-6.0) there are plentiful supplies out there but I wouldn't wait too long.

Im interested to know more about what you said it starting to heat up? I not really following the spec market or something so i not hearded about like the Bronze increasment...

Your message conforts me to go with the first guy i disscussed with, thats a really nice lot which is covering almost the whole bronze age of the serie, this is not some high grade stuff but anyway hich grade its not what im looking for, and the price is really good i think.

Interesting to mention the condition, honnestly i think i will not like to get my serie in the highest grade because after got it i will probably never be satisfied again by any of my next purchase... however if you told me that you wont spend a dollar in more on comics after this i agree

  5. 1 and only 1!

You will not have the right to sell any of the books, so the monetary angle isnt a thing!

Probably many off you will choose a serie that they are already working on but they d think to never be able to finish. Im sure that there is many people here who have some near full run of Spidey or Batman and just need the big one they missed when it was yet in their price range and which is now not anymoredoh!

And an additional question: would you be ready to get ride of your entire collection to get this run?

For me the choice is without hesitation: the original All Star Comics from the 40s.

And are i am ready to get ride of all my books for it? In many years maybe i will have took more reflexion but at the time its a great: YES.

I've always liked this Romita cover for the menace and tension it evokes. I liked it so much that I made my own version of it earlier this year. A friend, artist Graham Nolan, dislikes this cover and thinks it is "terrible", but for me, it is awesome. The story inside, however, is not very interesting.

  7. Im looking to complete a whole jla vol 1 run, i recently found a really really nice lot which is covering the whole bronze age era, the disscusion is very advanced with the seller and i will probably buy them in the nexts days, however its a totally new things for me, until now i was only collecting modern so im wondering myself "how much is the good ammount to spend on a random book from the bronze age in fine condition?" I have the feelings that we overalluate a bit these books because they re a bit older than the moderns but i think they re still really easy to get comparated to the silver stuffs... how much is the usual price you agree to spend on bronze books?

    Thanks.

Picked up another collection yesterday - 6 liquor cartons full of books (maybe like 500 books?), they were asking $200 (coincidentally the same as what I paid for another recent collection). I'm super glad I saw the listing and jumped at that price - the last collection had some good finds, but this one was far, far better! Not high grade, but still well worth it:

Thank you for the post @BA773.

I have always enjoyed your posts.

I didn't know you were Swiss.  You are a good ambassador for your country!

I have run into a fair number of Swiss expats in Latin America and I'm pretty sure I ended up angry each time.  Only last month I had sworn to myself I'd never talk to another Swiss expat after one of them ruined my seat at the bar. I was perfectly happy, sitting with a stray dog at the bar, and they came into the bar, fresh off the plane, and wanted to talk to an American about their admiration of Putin.

Your love of comics has helped me see the error of my ways. I will give the next Swiss-in-the-jungle a fair chance. I'll tell them I know a Swiss dude who likes Batman and maybe that will help steer them towards a friendly conversation instead of a bar fight.

My love of the comics dont necessary make me a nice guy... like anyone here.

I have no opinion on any race personally, insufficiently_thoughtful_person are all around the world...

I don't want to ruin the atmosphere but for me the greatest problem above all is probably, as sad as it is to admit... the human... Maybe is why i always had so much love for Martian Manhunter :/

  10. To tell more about the Panini translation on Marvel... we can even speak of a scandal, the early spiderman were translated using dissapeared terms and useless vulgarity, some sentance were even incomprehensible like if the translation was made by Google, which totally discredited the charachter and discouraged many readers :tonofbricks:
