  1. Never tried yet, do you like it?

The thrill of being outbid... :canofworms:

Did you already been through a fight to the death against someone in an auction, bids after bids without end, and even overpaid just to get the satisfaction of the win? I think it could be the bad repercussion  for some guys who have the winner mentality...

    :)

I really love this book, introducing the Atom. Im sure that its not an easy business to get a nice looking copy considering the black background.

While buying run moderns from the LCS I was essentially collecting the 'last appearance' of a character.  The following month I'd have to buy that too, cause it's now the 'last appearance' of a character..:tonofbricks:

If your want to assemble a nice collection of last appearence, i recommand you to look on the side of "Injustice" and "Dceased".

The death of nightwing especially is really well orchestrated and could be a good investment.

  4. So if i understand its all freaking reprint of the Fawcett GA stories...? Absolutely any novelty? :tonofbricks:

If it is, there s absolutely no argue to collect it, especially considering that Fawcett GA books still affordable...

I'm a great fan of the house ads comic publishers once ran to promote other issues from their own comic line. In particular the ones that letterer and logo designer Ira Schnapp did for DC between 1940 and 1967 were works of art and very often left me with a palpable desire to acquire and read that particular comic.

So show off your favourite house ads by any publisher here with your present day copy of that same comic if possible!

I'll start. I still remember the day in 1964 that I first saw this ad in an old Blackhawk comic in the waiting room of the Ontario Conservatory of Music on Dundas Street in London prior to my weekly accordion lesson:

It left me longing for a copy of Justice League 3 but at the time I thought that particular issue was gone forever in the mists of time. I've had that issue now since 1980-81 but I'd still like a better copy!

How do you explain that Martian Manhunter is the only one to deserve his real name on this announce? lol

Alternate explanation:  CGC incorrectly describes a "leaf" as a "page" (so, when the label says "page", you should think "leaf").  For example, if the label says "Page 16 missing", then what is actually missing is interior leaf 16 (aka interior pages 31 and 32).  :foryou:

    L16.thumb.jpg.4cb5b28bb4eed986dc842ca246be32a7.jpg

Don't ask me why CGC decided to use non-standard language.  Every comic book publisher since the 1930s has defined "page" as one side of a two-sided leaf.  So, yes, a book cannot possibly be missing just one page, or have a cut-out that affects only one page.  :preach:

Oh god, i would prefer a 0.5 with all the cover burned rather than this nice looking book with a missing page

Here are the Bookends of 4 of my personal favorite series that I collected from beginning to end. Preacher, Sandman and Superman Adventures I collected from issue 1 to the end. Transformers I started at issue 7 and went to the end (picked up 2-6 in back issues from my LCS, #1 was a birthday gift). What ones do you still have?

For what it's worth, I like your enthusiasm for comics and for DC. And I'm fond of the era of books that you collect since those are the books I was reading new as they were coming out. It's fun reading about you discovering them now, and I think it's important to have younger guys like you interested in our hobby.

Im refering of this posted on the other thread, here are the words of @Turnando:

"It's a Swiss thing. I think the OP is a good dude and cannot help being Swiss.

I live surrounded by Swiss (and especially German) expats in Central America.  They are ALL like that. Without exception.  I have met 50 of them personally and I swear to god there are no exceptions."

Thank you for the post @BA773.

I have always enjoyed your posts.

I didn't know you were Swiss.  You are a good ambassador for your country!

I have run into a fair number of Swiss expats in Latin America and I'm pretty sure I ended up angry each time.  Only last month I had sworn to myself I'd never talk to another Swiss expat after one of them ruined my seat at the bar. I was perfectly happy, sitting with a stray dog at the bar, and they came into the bar, fresh off the plane, and wanted to talk to an American about their admiration of Putin.

Your love of comics has helped me see the error of my ways. I will give the next Swiss-in-the-jungle a fair chance. I'll tell them I know a Swiss dude who likes Batman and maybe that will help steer them towards a friendly conversation instead of a bar fight.

As i see by your words on my topic about the Ebay mess, you quickly changed your mind on me :shy:  as i said pastly on this topic, my love of comics doesnt necessary means that im a nice guy... and it seems that you discovered it by yourself ...

Close to impossible to repeat the same alignment exactly, twice, never mind multiple times.  It's the same photos.

And that's ok, if you say the photos are just to identify the comics for sale, not the exact copies you will be getting.

Yes thats the point which annoy me, seriously... its the same photos and... THATS OK, RELAX.

Yes, that's a good one. While it didn't make my top thirteen, it would make my top twenty from the Silver Age.

What's also interesting is the addition of all those messy Marvel style blurbs beginning with issue #36 forced a reduction in the style and size of the "Justice League of America" logo beginning with issue #43. More background canvas space was needed for Mike Sekowsky's cover art!

The single worst Bat-craze cover abomination may have been this one:

    Justice20League2046_zpsws39ijrh.jpg

    :frown:

And you can see all the hypocrisy in the text at the bottom: "too overwhelming to be shown on this cover" ... or rather: "too much text to be shown on this cover" lol

Here's my last try: I believe NeatStuff sold these lots and to different buyers and they are completely separate lots.

I understand you have a fixed display but do you also lay the comics over each the *exact same way* every single time?

Look at the same peekaboo vertical line of "DIRECT SALES" on this comic in *every* auction; or how the bar code on the left exactly shows only the last two digits the same way:

    image.png.7eefc29f5fa614835e78ef95aeaebb2b.pngimage.png.58c1e968fff7622ac119d8031b761d29.pngimage.png.a7b434c514300be45f48c7979920ddab.png

Correct; you don't *just* say "look at the pictures"; you say to base bids on the pictures provided but you don't actually provide pictures of these Batman lots you are selling.

Crazy to not wanting to recognize some obvious details like this... :boo:
