  1. Let's kick it off with some cheap Adam Hughes goodness. These are generally nice copies that wouldn't be worth slabbing, but make for nicely presenting placeholders in your collection. Amazing Spoof Heroes Swimsuit Special - VG/F, spine ticks, upper lefthand corner crunch - $2 - SOLD! JSJ
  2. Hello all! It's been a while since I've done one of these, so hopefully I remember all of the ins and outs. If I manage to miss something, please shoot me a PM before poofing the thread, much appreciated. I've accumulated a couple of boxes of adult/underground/etc books and have finally gotten around to sorting and scanning them. Many of these books are mid-grade, but they're still uncommon and strange enough that I thought they might be of interest to folks around here. I'm going to start the thread off with the PG-13 stuff, but once we've made it through those, I'll give a warning that Adults Only Freakiness is on its way! Basically, if you're easily offended, these will not be the books for you. I've done my best to censor the pics so as to not make the more delicate among you faint dead away, but it's possible I'll miss a stray areola or two. There are nearly 300 items to be listed here, and I'm going to do my level best to blast through them today. Whatever isn't posted by 5 or so, I'll pick up again tomorrow. But my intention is to have everything up within a day or two, and not let this thread drag on for long. The vast majority of the books in this thread are in the $1-$3 range. There are a few outliers that are a bit pricier. Suffice to say, pricing this sort of material isn't easy, as eBay hides the stuff away, MCS doesn't carry it, and Mile High are smoking crack. So, between these sources, OSPG, and my personal gut feeling on how hard some of them are to find, you may find a few books to be "overpriced". I am open to reasonable offers, as always, particularly if you're picking up several books. I am easy to get along with. So, enough jawin', here's the rules: 1. No HOS or probs 2. Paypal or timely Money Order, Paypal is preferred though 3. Payment is due within a week of invoice being sent. Invoices will be sent within 24 hours of thread closing. I do plan on having this thread wrapped up in a day or two, so it'd be swell to have payments processed by the weekend if possible. That would make me smile. 4. Returns are cheerfully given if A. Book is damaged in transit or B. I missed something in grading. I'm not perfect, and I was going cross-eyed by the time I was done scanning all of these books, so I may have missed things. I think you'll find I'm very reasonable and easy to deal with. However, no returns just because you decide you don't want the book anymore. These are cheap books, so I don't expect this to come up anyway. 5. Shipping is done via USPS. 1-2 books should be good to go 1st class in a flash mailer for $5. (can also ship priority for $8) 3+ books will go Priority, actual rate depending on the number of books. As an example, 3-10 (maybe a few more) should be able to go in a Region A box or a 1092/1095 combo for about $10, and 10-40 (or maybe a few more) should be able to go medium flat rate for about $13. Whatever the actual cost is, that's what you'll pay. I'm not a fan of media rate, but will ship if Buyer takes full responsibility. 6. International shipping - Ordinarily I am MORE than happy to ship to our Boardies abroad! However, given the nature of a lot of these books, I have some concerns regarding customs, etc. I don't want either of us to go to jail because of your $2 copy of Gaby and the Goat. So, I hesitate to offer these books internationally. If you are still interested though, send me a PM and we'll see what we can work out. The PG-13 books (Lady Death, Adam Hughes, etc) are good to internationally, and I'll ship to you at exact cost. A couple of books can go first class pretty cheap, but beyond that it's priority, and that can get expensive quick. So keep that in mind. 7. Age restriction - By these books, you are stating that you are 18+ years of age and it is legal for you to own these materials in your area. 8. One of my Kudos threads is linked on my profile avatar thingie to your left. I have another one floating around out there as well, somewhere. I have been a registered user for nearly 10 years now, and have sold tons of cheap books as well as pricey books. I sell on eBay under the name mrbobdobbs, and have long been a top rated power seller (though I haven't been selling much recently so that status may not be current) with a 100% positive feedback rating of over 5k. I am generally pleasant. 9. In thread trumps all PM negotiations or conversations. Given the nature of these books, it's fine if you want to close the deals anonymously via PM, but again, if someone the book in thread before I get around to reading your PM, they get the book. 10. I should be available to update the thread and answer PM's most of the day 8am to 4:30pm EST, but am not on ofter after that time. Thread will be updated first thing the following morning. 11. Since these are generally cheap books, I've only done front covers scans for most of them. I've done front and back for most of the books $5+. If you need a back cover scan or pics, I'm more than happy to send, just PM me. (Though note that the book is still available for sale until it is claimed.) Ok, hopefully that covered it. Let's go! PS: Some of these books are "heat sealed" in their bags, shrink wrapped, etc as was/is common practice for adult titles being sold in comic shops. I have not opened these bags as I don't want to damage the books any further, so grades are approximate. But again as most of these are mid-grade books in the $1-$3 range, the grade won't make a great deal of difference to the price. Thanks!
  3. I think Scooby is a cool book and I can see why people like it, but I don't see anything "key" about it. But people should buy what they like!
  4. I used to pick up STACKS of Spidey 2099 in 50 cent and dollar bins, for years, and sold them for around $5. Guess I should have held on to my stockpile. I just have a hard time paying more than a buck for that book, no matter how hot it gets. I have started picking up ASM 365s again as well, but that was another dollar bin book for so long, it hurts to pay more than $5 for them. I had a few 9.8 slabs too and I can't imagine I paid more than $35 for them? Ugh. Probably sold them for a song. This market is so weird.
  5. Nice! Evil Dead + John Bolton, what's not to love? I've owned a few sets of these over the years, I need to get a set for the permanent collection at some point.
  6. Thanks! It took several years to put together. 3-6 were no big deal, but 1 & 2 were a different story. A boardie sold me the #1 many years ago and at the time I paid a premium for it (and I would have paid more!) but it has turned out to have been a bargain in the long run. #2 was the white whale. For many years there were only 2 9.8's on the census, and those guys weren't selling. Finally managed to snag one in trade as part of a much larger deal a couple of year ago. Nowadays I'm trying to find raw NM copies of the 2nd through 6th printings, but they don't turn up often in nice shape.
  7. You're quite welcome, I aim to please! You're happy, my wallet is happy, everyone wins!
  8. Yup, I like loose/complete figures, and loose complete vehicles that also have the box, which I can display behind the vehicle (if I have room). But having a vehicle mint in unopened box...that would drive me nuts. It's a toy, I wanna play with it! Who wants a box full of disconnected plastic sprues? Oh well, lots of folks, apparently. And to each their own! Everyone should collect what they like. But for me, knowing about how this stuff is going to fall apart in time, I'd rather enjoy the loose stuff while I can.
  9. This only increases my suspicion that BuzzKillington is actually another Stu account.
  10. Those are some tuff books! It was never my thing, but Gold Digger always brings back memories of when I was working at a comic shop (20+ years ago) and there was this guy that would call every other day or so, and ask about "furry" books. He'd ask if we had any Gold Digger, Shanda the Panda, etc. But he clearly had some sort of issues. Very robotic and odd to talk to. Then he'd ask us which issues we had, and ask us to describe the covers, and would start breathing hard. And that's when I'd hang up. Anyway...uh, nice books!
  11. I think the moral of HPB is that it all depends on what people bring them. Both of our HPB's are in relatively "well-to-do" parts of town, where I guess the inhabitants don't mind selling their comics to a store for maybe 5 cents a pop. For me, selling to HPB is essentially the last step before I just take stuff to the dump. But as long as other folks are willing to sell them their stuff, I'll keep going back.
  12. Sorry, couldn't see the stands in your pics as I was STRUCK BLIND by your HOS 92 in 9.6. Holy cats!
  13. Well I love ALL of it, and would love to collect them all, but I simply don't have the money or space to pursue all of the lines the way I'd like. Star Wars I was able to make a break with a long time ago, as the prequels killed my enthusiasm for the franchise, and the sheer tonnage of figures they were releasing were impossible to keep up with. So I got out. Transformers are kind of the same, in that I abhored the movies and therefore don't like the movie designs, and even with G1 and G1 inspired stuff, there was just too much released to keep up with. That being said I just bought a G1 collectoin from a friend, so I feel myself getting sucked back in. So, I stick with superhero stuff, and Joes. I grew up loving Star Wars, Transformers, and He-Man as well, but most of my playtime was dedicated to G.I. Joe. The best action figure series of all time, no question. Articulation, accessories, vehicles, playsets, just perfection.
  14. Aw man, congrats! I was runner up on it, apparently. Had to make myself drop out but I think you still got a good deal on it! As for me, I struck out on everything. There wasn't much I was super interested in, and the "cheap" stuff I was interested in just got a hair beyond what I wanted to pay. Too much of a tight wad last night, apparently. Oh well.
  15. I AM a doofus, but not because I don't use the app. I have plenty of other doofus qualifications.
  16. This thread inspired me to dig these out of my boxes. Looks like they're somewhere in the 5th through 7th printing range. Anyone have one of these sets opened and know which ones are inside? Wondering if a certain printing was only found in this particular pack. Also curious what printing 415 and 416 are. Hmmm...I've got three sealed packs, should I open one up in the name of research???
