  1. My understanding is that the glossiness of modern books is achieved with a polymer coating that can melt when heated, that's what I meant.
  2. Thanks. For the color break, do you mean the staple/spine ticks?
  3. My main concern with this one is the curving next to the spine. I assume that can be pressed but I have no experience with pressing modern books.
  4. Significant bindery marks on most of the pages, but I'm told that doesn't affect the grade? Indentations over the staples, especially the upper ones, on the cover. Slight notch on the upper left corner.
  5. Thanks, everyone. I'm new to the grading side of collecting and I had visions of upper 9s dancing in my head...I think I'll see about putting it up raw while I decide and continue to go through the collection. On this one I think the crease near the bottom left is a corner bump mark, unfortunately.

I was concerned with the little hanging corner on the lower right but no one even mentioned it.
  7. Inherited from my father among thousands of other. He thinks I should sell as-is but I think it might be a pretty high grade. Thanks in advance.

  9. I will, thank you. Didn't want to clog it up with multiple threads.
