  1. I guess the only reason I picked up a rare book or two without even knowing it is that I bought a big chunk of my collection back in the days when there wasn't nearly as much information out there about scarcity. Heck, there was a time when I saw a Major InaPak for the first time and thought, "Wow, I haven't seen that one before." So, I will keep an eye out for your Jackpot #7, but no promises, Mr. P.
  2. Awesome book and one I haven't seen before outside of a Gerber pic. Definitely one of the tougher Peps (thumbs u Been in the box for many a year. I didn't realize it was tough, though now that you mention it, I don't think I've seen another one.
  3. I usually try to avoid these kinds of discussions on the boards. But, I would hope that everyone can lighten up a bit (and I would include some of our distinguished senior members in that) or this thread is going to be pulled by the mods. And, as evidenced by the number of posts I've made to this thread, this is one of my favorites. loulou7980, I don't think anyone here is concerned about your ethnicity. I think some of the boardies are just poking a bit of fun at some of your hyperbole and grandiose statements. Mmhedy got lambasted for coming on and declaring himself “King of Comics” and Earthshaker01 was recently advised to turn it down a notch with the constant references to his comics being “the finest example in existence.” (On a side note, that, along with some of the writing style, made me wonder if they are the same guy) As to the second part, being new here... absolutely! I think you are getting a bit of the hazing that seems to be pointed towards all new members. Welcome to the boards! I think it is quite admirable that you made an effort to change the title of this thread. When Ferdelance started it, I wondered how long it would be before someone made mention of it. It actually took longer than I thought. Is the title change a good thing? Sure. Is it going to usher in a new dawning of racial harmony and world peace? Or, as you put it, “This is the right stance towards equality and basic human rights. A truly a great moment of change.” C'mon, dude, this is a comic book chat board. I'm not sure future generations will look back on this as the defining moment of a "golden age" of racial tolerance. That’s what the guys are poking fun at. And just so you know, I was born in Tokyo to a Japanese mother and an American father.
  4. I really expected a 9.2 and would have been happy with it. Gee, when I expect 9.2, I get 8.5. Congratulations... fantastic book!
  5. That whole run from #30 to #46 just leapt out at me when I first looked at the photojournal. They are all greaty arent they? Let's shift the focus a little with Planet Comics, and let's begin at the beginning. Not exactly the Denver copy, but my first ever copy of #1 and I cant tell you how delighted I am! That's a beauty! Congrats, Michael!
  6. Welcome to the boards, Earthshaker. Some very pretty books posted so far. Looking forward to seeing more of your collection.
  7. who else could it be John? His less well known cousin, the Scarlet Cranium?
  8. Thanks! #32 is a definitely a great cover image. I think that #40 might have been the first Fiction House I ever bought and was certainly the first Fight I bought. I was attracted to the pulp-like image with the woman in chains and the menacing vulture (buzzard to those of us in the South).
  9. Thanks, Rick! Great to meet you, as well. And thanks for hooking me up with some fantastic books!
  10. Thanks, guys. As many have pointed out, Fiction House seems to have a lot of variability in the intensity of the cover colors. That part of the Fight run does have some of my favorite covers.
  11. Gemma, When dropping off comics at a con for CGC to take back to Sarasota, how should the comics be packaged? I'm assuming as usual, with up to 5 comics between cardboard, just like for mailing, but should they then be in another box? In other words, just like for shipping to HQ, but without the postage, etc.? What do you guys prefer?
  12. Bumped this up from earlier in the thread. The more I look at this, the less I think it is Hitler.
