  1. Depends which one's. I am debating if I should simply Grade the Keys and sell the rest at the moment.
  2. I believe that there are a few issues missing on the top end. 3. The books are all NM, I selectively replace any books below NM over the years. I am thinking of selling it as a set. I have #1 -> #263 Beyond that, not sure I would consider them the same volume or serires.
  4. Hi, What would you value a Full Run of Peter Parker Spectacular Spider-Man at ? All the books are Direct Edition, no news stand copies at all. All the books are stored in BCW silver age self-sealing bags and BCW Silver age boards. The set is stored in BCW hard plastic short boxes,
  5. What are my chances of getting the books delivered to my PfO Box in time beore I have to leave. I figure I ship the books this week and will be in Phoenix, las week of February or first week of March. Thanks Angelo
  6. Hi, For a 10 book submission what size is the box you guys use? Thanks Angelo
  7. Am planning to sell this one, am looking to get a consensus on what grade this magazine would be at.
  8. I am tinking 6.5 to 70. Because of the back top cover and what feels like a bit less of a gloss on the cover. But it is a really nice book
  9. I should take it out of the bag at least once before sending it in. Just to make sure it is not fake.
  10. I just got this in the mail today, am thinking this one is for sure a high grade. It is bagged in thick mylar with a transparent solid backer. I am going to send it in for Grading next month when I finally send in my first batch. Am almost afraid to take it out of the bag. The book cover has no marks or dings or color flaws, I scanned it while it is still in the bag.
  11. Where are you sourcing the DIY slabs? I am thinking of making custom sets as I give the books for xmas gift and bdays to my grand nephews and nieces. The lables will simply be with their name on it and a Custom Scale .. no fake CGC intended just a way to preserve gifts.
  12. No, I am in Canada but that does not really matter. It gets convaluted when you think of it like a "I give it to you now, but you will not really know about it until later when you and the books have aged". I want them to appreciate the collection on the long haul, and not just tear the books up without understanding.
  13. They are not in a position to really chose a book from a collectible point of view; at that age I am probably going to get a few readers as well as the more valuable copies for later down the road.
  14. No, actually reading them at the age-appropriate level they are intended for. I am looking at this where the books will be bagged - boarded for a while until when the girls will be able to read the content and not have it be a shock. or inappropriate. The parents can help grow the collection with them and i can still contribute a key issue or two now and then.
  15. Wow, who knew. I will have to check that out. I just thought of the Smurfs too, I wonder if they have a cominc book series that would be collectible.
  16. These are so cute, somewhat expensive though so not sure it is a good fit for a "let them grow the collection" type of scenario. But I did see a few raw books that looked interesting for starters. I may just buy a set of them and give one each year for their birthdays.
  17. Hi, I am introducing my grand nephews and nieces to comic book collecting, they are three years old. For the boys I got them both a copy of Amazing Spiderman #83 1st appearance of the Schemer, later revealed to be Richard Fisk, the son of Kingpin. I figured it is a good entry level book at a FN+ grade bagged and slabbed for them to start off with. For the girls, I am looking at ARCHIE’S GIRLS: BETTY AND VERONICA but when I read some of the content pages am not sure these books are good for young girls even if they probably will not read them and they will be kept bagged and boarded for later enjoyment. What other Titles would you suggest that have a "fun to grow my collection" factor built into them?
  18. I know, but how do you have a margin at these prices when throwing in the cost of CGC to whatever the raw book cost to start with. I bought a Peter Parker Spectacular Spider-Man #1 1976 at 9.6 for 120$ which is not too bad since I could not find a reliable raw copy that stood up to an up-close review. I just need to find a few more key issues before I send in a batch to CGC for grading.
  19. I just snagged an ASM #344 slabbed at 9.6 for like 70$ on Ebay, either the world is collapsing, or the 9.6 iceberg is melting.
  20. The thing that kills me and give so much credence to the ASM is so much better than PPSSM is that you have 72 pages at 120 items per page of ASM until you reach the same prices as the first pages of PPSSM. LOL it goes to show which series wears the pants.
  21. I am getting dizzy on Ebay when looking for some books I want to get. you really have to watch out for Fascimile , Reprints, True Favorites Spectacular Scarlet vs Amazing Scarlet vs Appreciation editions. What the hell happened to vanilla issues of the books? Why do people even sell the Facsimiles on eBay as though they were collectables and graded by CGC, are they trying to fish you in to buy a book that is essentially a joke of a money grab by Marvel? I had to retract several bids after I noticed they were facsimile or true believers. I mean come on, talk about a money market or Grand Bazar when not everything that glitters is gold.
  22. See that is what I feel too, but in the end a 9.8 is more of a "prestige" element since a 9.6 presemts probably just as well as a 9.8 I am not looking at it from a "I am going to sell" the books outright but maybe in 5 or 10 years depending on what happens with the hobby it could become an option. I figure the thing to do is to wait for a great deal and just buy it when it presents itself. I see some 9.8 books on Ebay auctions at really good prices and many with 0 bids on top of that.
  23. I remember watching Spider-Man cartoon at lunch time from School, it was my favorite time of the day and the competition between the Flintstones and Spider-Man was fierce. I will probably start buying isolated copies of ASM when the best deals show up, I have a few Keys but with minor spine ticks and small color breaks it makes it frustrating especially when the book itself looks like new and glossy and you see the huge difference in pricing on places like Ebay. Some people are just nuts with the prices, I wonder if it is because the wife wants them to sell the books but they don't want to and can say look nobody is buying my book for it's real value. LOL
  24. How much importance do you guys put on the Grade of the book when collecting, I am debating if I want to try and get all my keys in 9.8 over the long haul as opposed to buying 9.0 -> 9.6 copies to complete the set. I am going to start looking at how to get higher grade books at smart values and offload the lesser one's when I do make a purchase. At the moment I have 6 copies of Peter Parker Spectacular #1 all of them are 8.5 to 9.2 at best, so it is alluring to look for a 9.8 and call it a day. What are your thoughts ?
