  1. Nice copy! Welcome to the boards! (thumbs u John
  2. And she is well worth it. Favorite statue in my admittedly small collection. lucky all the LCS are sold out of it in my area and ebay has them $200+ which sucks I have that one too. Small, but really nice. Just keep your eyes peeled, and I bet you'll eventually find one for a decent price. thanks you know i keeping an eye for it Don't pay $200+ for it - DC will re-issue a "variant" of this statue (see Mignola Batman BW, etc).
  3. Any word on whether Bowen's license has been renewed?
  4. Thanks guys. The book looks great in hand despite the writing, which in some weird way does not detract much from the overall presentation. Now you have me wondering why it was cracked out of an 8.5 slab. Maybe I should resubmit the book to CGC to get that 8.5 back?
  5. Been wanting this one for some time and couldn't resist: http://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fitems%2Easp%3Fid%3D3938%26FROM%3D%26TO%3D&id=1004387
  6. Thanks Adamstrange. I'd love to see them. Have they been posted around here?
  7. Agreed- I was starting to wonder if any high grade copies existed or if someone was just holding onto them. I haven't seen any pedigree copies of this book- perhaps there is one out there? Interestingly, another reason for this book being overlooked may have to do with references made to Fox having only done 3 covers in the run. If my memory serves me correctly, Overstreet attributes 3 books to Fox in the run.
  8. Thanks - there are plenty of awesome books of yours that makes me jealous! I was really surprised how the book looked in hand. Been looking for a nice copy of this book for some time and the presentation on this one exceeded my expectations. Also wanted a classic "medicine man/witch doctor cover." It seems as if this book is overlooked since focus has been on the other Fox classic covers in the run. They're all incredible covers but this one is my personal favorite.
  9. I love Matt Fox covers and was fortunate enough to grab a nice copy of my favorite one upon immediately seeing it: http://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fcgcitems%2Easp%3Fid%3D4279%26FROM%3D%26TO%3D&id=1007857 A classic Matt Fox cover imho.
  10. The "CGC Blue-Purple-Blue 76er Copy" of JIM 83 might very well go down as a very famous or infamous book (depending on how one looks at this). Will definitely have a place in recent comic book history and might even have some impact on its market value if it ever come up for sale.
  11. This book doesn't need a movie to go up in value. Sure a "speculation bump" will coincide with the release of a film and the degree of any increase can depend on how successful the movie is in theaters. BB 28 is one of the greatest SA DC Keys - in fact, one of the greatest SA keys and a blue chip if you're into collecting comics for the purpose of investing. Keys like BB 28 don't require a need for success in other mediums - this book stands on its own. Movies are nice and can sometimes generate interest in related mediums, but the SA keys have already stood the test of time and like fine wine, get better with age as we grow older.
