  1. One major problem with this book- it's not published monthly!!!!
  2. Awesome back cover with a date stamp exactly where I want it on the SA mega-key.
  3. You got it for a steal. Had I not been very happy with mine, I could have easily spent 5 grand for your copy- and its worth more than that.
  4. VG is upper mid-grade for this book. Brannon, your book is high grade - I can't stop looking at it.
  5. Fantastic! Did Kubert have any reaction to seeing the book and signing it? I would think Kubert doesn't see and sign too many of these. Bill, think about your personally witnessing this rare and historic this moment is in the history of comics- the great Joe Kubert signing the greatest war book ever and co-creating this character- the greatest comic book war character ever! The Rock. Your 83 is now immortalized! Congrats! John
  6. Those are awesome "6s to roll Brannon!" John
  7. Congrats Brannon! Great copy of the most significant war book ever!
  8. That's the only 6.0 on the census! Truly a SA treasure.
  9. Congrats Brannon! Fantastic copy of one of the greatest books ever! John
  10. I'm one who believes that he can get more than 40 grand for that book. The 9.0 could fetch 75 grand if it ever surfaced- but it is my understanding that the seller intends to keep it indefinitely.
  11. I always loved the colors on the cover of OFF 124.
  12. I just can't help it but he "checker board" top on DC's books during that era always reminds me of the Aurora AFX race cars I had during my childhood. Tec 359 is the "Deep Purple SA Key." great book. John
  13. And I thought your BA books were awesome! Amazing books Barton!
  14. You can see why Gil Kane is one of the greatest. As always, beautiful books Barton! Your collection never ceases to amaze me. John
  15. That 83 is a beautiful book. Just to find one is an accomplishment!
  16. It should fall somewhere there. Maybe we should start a "Draft the Rock Campaign into the Top 20 SA Key Books?"
  17. Agreed- Overstreet will take the conservative approach when it comes to this book. I'm just hoping that this book one day get the respect it truly deserves in terms of its value. I'd be curious to see where Rock's 1st app. would place in a top 20 SA keys in terms of value on this forum. Where do you think it would place?
  18. OAAW 83 is also in my opinion, the "breakthrough book"- the first war key that's not just a war key but a "major SA key"- a title that we usually reserve for only SA superhero keys (which I happen to also love and collect).
  19. I hope Overstreet includes it the the SA top 20- it belongs there- the current market says it's more valuable than FF 2 and ASM 2 (both great books nevertheless). The interesting thing about OAAW 83 is that it is by far the most difficult to find in any grade.
  20. OAAW 83 is a book that would place higher than some of the most recent OSPG Silver Age top 20 SA superhero book in terms of value. The most recent sales support this. Rock's 1st app. is in the big leagues. It is in my opinion, the first war key to compete with the superhero books. This makes it not just a war key but a major SA key. It's the book to grab even if 3 grand will now probably get you a 5.0-5.5.
  21. Barton is fantastic- the best! The books are always amazing! The packaging is phenomonal! And the shipping is superb! Stan Lee could not have said it any better. Thanks Ghost Town for another tremendous transaction! John
  22. If we take into account what OAAW 83 sold for in recent sales, should this book be placed on the 42nd edition of the OSPG's top 20 Silver Age books? It seems clear that this book will sell for more in the same grades as numbers 19 (FF 2 and ASM 2). What do you think?
