The foreign stuff can really put you to the test. At times you have to deal with things like auction sites that you can't register with without a local address or phone number, language barriers, sellers who think you're trying to run a scam, time zone differences etc. It's enough to drive you crazy, believe me.
Trying to collect this BA stuff that is common as dirt in HG has been doing plenty of that already.
It just takes time and patience.
That's the point. I want to collect something I won't have to bother spending money on because you won't be able to find it!Tracking these down has been an enormous undertaking. Collecting foreign editions isn't like comic collecting as most people know it. Sometimes it can take months or even years to find a copy of a book and high grades are rare beyond belief. Usually the highest you'll find will be in Fine range with the majority falling into the Good to VG range. -

This is just the horror related stuff. You should see the rest. I have somewhere around 300 to 400 foreign editions, mostly Adams & Wrightson stuff with a sprinkling of Nick Cardy and some random keys here and there.
You want to talk about books that are tough in high grade? How about tough in ANY grade?Ghosts 50 is one tough SOB to find in high grade.wow... just, wow...
Here's a link to my Photobucket with most of them.
The rest are here with my other Signature Series stuff.

I hadn't seen the Swedish one. Might have to track one of those down.
They, for whatever reason, used the art from Detective Comics #457 but opted to go with the white on black image. You know I dig the black and white coverThat is pretty cool - is that custom art for that specific issue, or is it a pinup or something from another Batman issue?
There is another one I think maybe the swedish? That opted with the monochromatic cover as well..... freakin killer book though!
edit: I found the Swedish scan.....
Interesting enough in all the other issues in the Swedish run they are in color for the most part? I think the same for the French one you have Tim. I wonder if DC might have lost the color seperations for the press? And when it came time for DC's licensing dept. to send the foreign publishers the art they were like recolor it or whatevs.... However it happened I like it, what a cool set to aquire....

I've got one Economy Fast Track book subbed at the NYCC that just got graded 11/27 and customer service told me today I should see it within a month. We're at 35 days now so I guess Fast Track now means almost 3 months wait time.
