  1. These are two of the reasons the Sci-Fi books are my favorite EC's.
  2. I'll be the first to chime in with a non-scantily clad woman cover.
  3. Love it and first time I've seen this one (at least that I remember). Like frozentundraguy mentioned, I think the octopus on the back of the robe takes an excellent cover and makes it a real standout. The Merritt story doesn't hurt either.
  4. Some random issues for another "get off of page 2 " bump.
  5. CGC notes "Stan Lee photo cover" on Black Rider #8. He's wearing a black mask.
  6. Congrats and definitely two classics (neither of which I own yet). If I had to choose though, I'd pick the Wood cover just because it reminds me of watching 50's sci-fi movies as a kid every time I look at it.
  7. Here's another PL western series. Still missing Western Frontier #1 and #2 from the group shot above though.
  8. Thanks. I still need the Weird Shadow and the Avon Lurking Fear.
  9. Some random books. I just saw the 1958 low budget Cop Hater with Robert Loggia in his first starring role (he'll always be Frank Lopez from Scarface to me though).
  10. Psychoanalysis may have been ahead of its time, but to me, the patients were just too whiny and self-pitying for me to enjoy the books. I would have much preferred having the psychiatrist deal with more interesting personalities instead of the average Joe or Jane. Obviously not what EC was going for though. The "post code" cure/breakthrough endings every story didn't help either (only read 2 issues though). At least a couple of the MD stories I can think of had mild twist endings (I especially liked the one for Worried Sick in #4). At least we can agree on EC war books and The Martian Chronicles. I put Piracy and Valor as my favorite New Direction titles but haven't read Aces High yet. I was holding out to get the originals, but so many in this thread have recommended it that I think I'll break down and buy the reprints.
  11. These were the first issues of Psychoanalysis that I read and was really surprised how much I disliked them. Definitely will not get the other 2 issues.

  13. Thanks. After 2 1/2 years of collecting pb's, not only am I still a newb, but also apparently too stupid to look up.
  14. Very cool SA. Do you know when they stopped putting the eyeball/keyhole on the spines? My #42 has it but #115 doesn't and I have nothing in between.
  15. I really like this DeSoto smoke filled room cover. I don't know who did the cover of the Cohen book but I like the intense look of the woman. Even with a bullet through the windshield, she really wants to catch up to that other car.
  16. Fun thread with lots of cool books that I at least have (dwindling) hope of finding at sane prices. Tough to only choose five though.
  17. The hitchhiker with the bleeding hand makes me think of the hitchhiking scene from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I cant even remember the last time I saw a hitchhiker.
