  1. Yes, my research shows that Golden Arrow #1 is the origin of the phrase "purple mountain majesties".
  2. Great looking book. There are plenty of westerns with "gun shot out of hand" covers, just not usually with an arrow.
  3. Two nice groups of Ace romance books. These two painted covers are my favorite though.
  4. Nice Maneely covers. I especially like the Outlaw Kid #11. I recently read the Maneely issue of Alter Ego (#28). A great read.
  5. I like this one. It also kind of looks like Plastic Man stretching from the jet.
  6. Here's a Dr. Love under copy I was happy to get.
  7. The woman on this cover reminds me of a tipped over mannequin.
  8. Good info,I didn't know that many films were put out by those three in 47/48. I always thought they were mainly in the early 40's. It would be interesting to see the print runs on Dell's already established westerns like Red Ryder, Gene Autry and Hopalong Cassidy leading up to the boom in 49.
  9. Scrooge, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the results of your research. My first thought for the reason western comics would have made a big jump in 1949 was the Lone Ranger television show, but it came out in September of that year.
  10. Nothing but cool books there. Congrats on the great looking Peanuts.
  11. A couple hand me downs from the good doctor. I really like the Ward cover and enjoyed reading both books, especially the BR #1.
  12. The flame filled Blazing West logo is one of my favorites of all comic logo's. They only did about 5 with flames in the 20 issue run though.
  13. I bought this one just for the headdress.
  14. Nice ones. Bright and glossy Cole books sure are a pretty sight. The devil's expression on #13 is an absolute classic.
  15. I'm very happy with the three books I just received from Don. Quick shipping and securely packed. He's great to deal with and I definitely look forward to buying some more cool books from him.
  16. I got a Body Snatcher vibe from the story but haven't seen the Crawling Eye before. I'll have to try to find that one.
  17. I've really enjoyed this thread. I love seeing all these great stories that are usually hidden in plastic. Here's one I posted a while ago in the Atlas thread but thought it belonged here also.
  18. Great stuff pmpknface. I don't think I've ever seen any of those.
  19. Fixed! Now it's fixed. If it was only that easy, adamstrange wouldn't have any comics left.
  20. Great books. I'd love to have any of the three.
  21. My favorite PCH cover. Congrats on a great looking copy.
  22. Quick-Trigger Western #16 has art by Colan, Orlando, Pike, Kirby and Shores. Here's the Orlando story.
  23. I like the hidden sig on the Western Outlaws. Here's the Quick-Trigger Western.
