  1. I bought this as a raw 8.0 from Metro and had it graded then sent it in to CGC to get slabbed with my coupon. I then mailed it to Comic Link to sell in their May auction. A few days later I got a huge urge to start collecting westerns and they let me pull it from the auction and sent it back to me. I'm glad I had a change of heart since I have come to love those Kinstler covers.
  2. Some recent additions to my new western collection. The Outlaws and Gene Autry were pulled from CGC cases (7.5 and 7.0). I'll leave the Tom Mix's in and get reader copies if I can't find them online.
  3. I really like the Hickok 4 also. I saw his grave site in Deadwood,S.D. Lots of change on the ground. People think they're wishing wells or something.
  4. He used to, a lot - the IRS identified him as a PowerSeller and he opened up a second ebay account, but mailed a package with his exact same address to an acquaintance of mine, who tipped me off. Here is my personal experience: I used to consider Dave Anderson a friend - I would call him every year after San Diego to provide a report and even rec'd an invite to view the books at his bank vault, so I flew across country to do so. I spent a lot of money with him, and still have the checks from the transactions. But then I suddenly learned how he had been cheating me - and so many others - for many, many years by not disclosing restoration (this included restored Mile Highs bought on the cheap and then peddled for more multiples without any disclosure. For example, Mile High Green Lantern #1 anyone?). Now we know how 'The Dentist' acquired the very best comic books in the world - on the backs of his many victims. So he's a comic book villain? He might make a great movie villain. I saw Marathon Man as a kid and that scene really creeped me out. I'll have to watch it again to see if it was as good as I remember it. Maybe he bought comics with those diamonds?
  5. After reading his one post, I don't think he's going to be too bothered by being put on the probation list........unless he wants to TRY and sell his Action 1 and Tec 27.
  6. Thank you MrBedrock. Did Dave Anderson ever admit to anyone that he added the code or is it just assumed he did?
  7. I just read all 30 pages. Yes my head hurts. I didn't see anything about adding "Church codes" to books. Was that the "restoration" that was referred to in Dave Anderson's post??
  8. I'll put my Agent Mulder hat on. Is this some kind of conspiracy? Why is he mysteriously referred to as "The Dentist". Is that some kind of code name used among the conspiracy leaders or is he really a dentist? Comicopolis and I have nearly 13,500 combined posts and I think we deserve some answers! Just kidding but I am curious.
  9. Beautiful copy. What did Metro grade it when you bought it? I bought it slabbed for about $150 over guide and was happy to do so. The comic looks great (just some weird scruff marks on the inside of the CGC case). I wish CGC would get rid of that "bondage" notation though.
  10. Dust? Rust? Trust? Crust? Mulva? I don't get the title. Am I missing something? How about bust, thrust or Delores?
  11. Here's one I got from Metro a while ago. I was only aware of Ingels EC stuff until a year ago. I fell in love with this right away.
  12. Wouldn't it be better if more people knew about it Rick I was wondering the same thing. I have seen a few board members get raked over the coals (deservedly so) for similar actions. A person that holds such a high place in the hobby should be held to high standards. Even if it was a long time ago, I would like to know so that I could do an extra thorough resto check on anything I bought from him (assuming he has anything I could afford). I am also putting off my imaginary $4,000,000 offer on his Tec #27 until this is clarified.
  13. I have seen it referenced on the boards before but don't know any of the details. I would like to know them though. If this story is true, everyone should know about it. If it's not true then the remarks should stop. Some of the comments have come from well respected board members so I must assume the stories have merit. Are people worried about lawsuits ?
  14. I like the Donald facial expressions on each but I love the #37. Very funny.
  15. And a pound of bricks weighs more than a pound of feathers.
  16. Nice pair of flag covers! Don't forget the Frisky Comics, also from Dell I love all of these flag covers. I never noticed the Frisky Fables before. The list of comics I want literally grows every day. Here's to hoping all comic prices plummet. (sorry dealers).
  17. Great looking copy of one of THE grails. Congrats.
  18. Maybe we'll get lucky and "someone" could get him to eventually show group shots of his collection similar to what honky cat has been doing.
  19. I'd like to ammend my previous statement to: Holy , what an awesome collection!
  20. Great information on Amazing Man, Mr. Berk.
  21. I'm not usually into the funny animal books but I really like this cover. (thumbs u
