  1. Another great bunch of books, Cheetah. That Fight #8 has an awesome cover. I believe it is also the oldest CGC 9.8 I have seen. A tremendous book, congrats.
  2. That is a great group of books. So many cool comics in there. Good luck with completing the run.
  3. My first Nazi cover and first Raboy cover all rolled into one.
  4. Since you have SR #1, you may find this interesting---or not. A page from the first issue. jb Wow, it surprises me that even still exists. Thanks for posting it.
  5. That book is from 1937 Its older than my dad, who was born in '38 One really nice aspect of the Star Rangers is that they are big -- magazine sized! A fellow boardie did me a favor in selling me this copy. I'm looking forward to reading mine and the large size will definitely make it stand out from the other comics I own. Your copy is spectacular though, that was some favor.
  6. I have wanted this book since I started collecting golden age 1 1/2 years ago. Since Thanksgiving is coming up and nobody in my family would understand what the heck I'm talking about, I'll say it here: "I'm thankful that Cheetah doesn't collect mid-grade westerns."
  7. When you pay the fine, just send a photograph of the money. Someone actually did that when NY started with the cameras years ago and the police department or whatever sent a picture of handcuffs back.
  8. Another group of great books. I especially love the Brick Bradford #6.
  9. I just recently bought all 11 issues from New England Comics and am looking forward to reading them. Your list is awesome by the way. (thumbs u
  10. I got this in last week from the Jerry Weist auction. He had some nice books and I was glad to get one even though it was only $10 from my max bid.
  11. That cover could also be seen as a person being blown up by a clock that had a bomb in it. The gear, bolt and other speck could simply be shrapnel form the clock bomb. See, I need to get out more. This is the kind of stuff I think about after spending all day in the house drawing. This made me laugh out loud. You don't need to get out more, that is brilliant! All these years & have never heard that take before. I never heard the clock bomb theory before either. I love it. Makes me appreciate the cover even more. (thumbs u
  12. At the 1989 San Diego Comic-Con I was set up with Howard Rockman from Albuquerque (at the time I was managing his comic store there). A guy came up to the table and asked if we had any Supersnipe Comics. The guy looked like a bum. He had pants on that were so dirty I swear they would stand up on their own.I had to look at him a few times before I realized it was David Carradine. It was shocking how unhealthy he looked. Well we had one Supersnipe that he liked and he wrote us a check for $40 for it. When we got back home the check bounced. Howard could never collect on it so we put it up for sale in the shop for $40. It sold in about a day. This is unbelievable. I mean, who would pay $40 for a Supersnipe in 1989? He didn't really pay for it though did he.
  13. Wow, that looks like it is more than a swipe. So much of it is line-for-line that it appears the artist took the original and modified parts it instead of a typical swipe. Good catch, I never looked that closely before. Even the skeleton puppet just had color added to it.
  14. Here are a couple I recently picked up. I like the bar room brawl in the Tom Mix but I love the Major Victory, does anyone know who did the cover? Nothing in the GCD.
  15. Classic cover. (thumbs u I agree, great cover. Similar to the Fantastic Comics #5 in the same auction. More clothes though.
  16. Here's a recent pick-up that I really like. Up until about 15 months ago I didn't know Everett did anything before or after Sub-Mariner.
  17. I needed bookends for all the Hi-Yo Silvers I bought from Heritage a couple weeks ago. So, since a Centaur is half a horse, you felt you needed two
  18. I needed bookends for all the Hi-Yo Silvers I bought from Heritage a couple weeks ago.
  19. These just arrived from the Comiclink auction. I like the guy in the lower right of the AMF that seems oblivious to the hot shower he's about to take.
