  1. You are correct and I stand corrected. I made an insensitive remark regarding you Chip and for that, I am sorry. I apologize to you directly.
  2. Not this again. Would it be better to just list the book initially for $1,030 and not mention anything about PayPal? Would that make everyone feel better? Or, list the book for $1,030 initially and say "2.9% discount if you pay via check" (again with no mention of PayPal). Would that make everyone feel better? I always ask for a complete total. Shipping, everything, before I commit. I have no problem saying "No thanks, I'll pass" I was commenting on the math. As long as a seller sticks to the forum rules it's none of my business what they want for their books. Other than I'll take it or move on. It just looks silly when you actually do the math.
  3. Throwing up a book for 1K and asking for another $30 makes the math look petty.
  4. The book sold though, didn't it? Poofing a sales thread with a completed sale in it seems like a bad idea in case the buyer ends up having a problem with some aspect of the sale. Better to lock it, I think, and keep it around as a public record of the sale. +1 +2 wasn't it already scrubbed?
  5. Best new series and best writer. The art is really good as well but thats some tuff competition.
  6. While I understand your concerns Bob as long as you are paying with paypal you are still covered. I have seen an uptick with issues I have had with sellers this past 2 years. There are too many new sellers that really either don't grade, don't pack, or don't ship well. Now in my cases each time after I took the time to show the seller the mistake I was able to return the books. To his point above I don't think we should be able to do pre-sales or pre-slabs without the book in hand. I struggle to make a seller have to provide a picture too because a lot of $1 books don't need pics. Because it does chew up a lot of time. I am not sure how to draw the line there. A true feedback system here would be a nightmare for the mods. I think changes to the selling rules is the better route. Maybe a requirement of time as well on this board before you can sell as well. Some sort of concrete return policy in the thread as well. Thanks for the well thought out, friendly statement. - I totally agree there is no need for pics of dollar books. - I think pics should be a requirement on slabs, especially with the new 'Newton effect' in play. - If pics are not a requirement, then allow I'll Take it Pending scans vs charging an extra 10%. - I believe in being proactive, rather than reactive, so allowing Negative Feedback is not really appealing to me either. I would much rather leave kudos than complaints. - Recognizing the Return Policy is now a Rule, it is often ignored with no enforcement. These are all good points and I would add that if a buyer has an issue with a seller they can go the probation route. It's not perfect but It carries more weight than a negative feedback system.
  7. Is it just me or does this book take a while to get published? Hopefully, my LCS still has a couple when I finally make it there.
  8. Is it because of the bindery tears or something else? + 1
  9. Kinda silly to play dumb, when that answer is right in your sigline.
  10. I did the same thing and had 2 - 425 at one time (ended up selling a bunch). I posted about it in another Spidey thread here and the high grade snobs ignored my post. So don't get discouraged, congrats, and best of luck.
  11. Issue 1 2nd and third print (obviously, the same cover but different letter color)
  12. My Lord.... I'm wondering if they read the description "This particular copy has several minor spine breaks, including one around 1/8" long that slightly breaks color."
  13. I was disappointed with the first episode. Hope it gets better since I'm a big fan of the series.
  14. I decided to wait and see if they can keep this title going. Had one in hand and put it back.
  15. One 9.8 on Feebay with a $200 BIN with no sold listings.
  16. From Bleeding Cool... "Of the unpublished titles, Monstress #2 tops the charts as a result of very strong sell through of the first issue. While much attention has been on Paper Girls, it may well be Monstress that breaks through".
  17. I don't usually keep up with release dates but... MONSTRESS #3 Story: MARJORIE LIU Art / Cover: SANA TAKEDA JANUARY 6 / 32 PAGES / FC / M / $3.50 Maika must confront the deadly secrets that live inside her.
  18. Picked up a frame for this Phil Noto piece that I recently received in the mail. My daughter is 13 and she loves Harley so this is a Christmas gift (plus, I get a new avatar - ). Nothing fancy as far as the frame goes but I think the red border makes it pop.
  19. This one will do well. He's definitely gotten out of my price range but this is a great cover.
  20. If you haven't picked this book up - you should. A great read/beautiful art and a non-superhero spandex story.
  21. I'm bumping this exchange as others are getting restless and looking for a current update on their books. I can quite understand how you would want him to walk the walk and not talk the talk. There's something disturbing about nominating oneself to the PL. I can't quite put my finger on it's but it like a cross between pity me and punish me. Wow. Just another reminder of why I don't do sketch ops. Seriously, that many sketch ops happening at one time is a recipe for disaster.
