  1. Great packaging for a great book. Thanks, Mike
  2. Great books and SS is a lot of fun (very addictive as well).
  3. That is ridiculous. There are many many examples of this happening and the seller being informed and the situation being corrected. And yet...... If the price is right the rules are forgotten. (thumbs u Err, that's kind of a Catch 22 perception when you think about it. I mean, if no one "forgot" the rules we would have no PL/HOS list in the first place. Seen it many times and I have to agree - you will get stepped on as you're posting the rules. That X-men was gone quick.
  4. I know Rucka has another personal project he's working on so I hope he sticks with this book.
  5. Nice books Marty. Although I have to admit, they look nothing like the Land of the Lost I watched on Saturday morning TV when I was a youngin.
  6. I think AMC has done really well with the show. HBO or cable tv would add what? Adult language and nudity? Not that I mind some T&A, but how would that add to the show? The gore factor is already there and like others have said the character plots have been pretty good. I stopped reading the books and then started again only to see another character get beaten beyond recognition - haven't read another book since. So I prefer to watch the TV version and liked this season's premiere.
  7. Hello Marty, Just wanted to say that even though I don't follow GA I enjoyed reading this thread and seeing your collection. You have some really nice books and the fact that you purchased them yourself makes them even more interesting. Thanks for sharing (books and stories). Mike
  8. I watch it with the wife and kids. There's not a lot to choose from during prime time that the whole family can enjoy. The actings okay and it's campy but have you seen the shows on Disney (which my kids watch a lot of)? We like the show and have also been tuning into Sleepy Hollow (although it scares my youngist one - but she loves it). So that's 5 likes you can add.
  9. Graded copies of the variants are hard to find. Census for Lazarus #1 variants in 9.8: CBLDF: 1 Midtown: 4 Forbidden Planet: 18 Comic Asylum: 39
  10. I knew I should have bid on this... Linky
  11. +1. He is also looking for a missing box of 100+ books.
  12. Dre's one of the better boardies here. Besides, he just started another thread for SDCC and he said something about being away from the craziness for a bit.
  13. That one will probably go for $3K. The HI sketch covers are the only truly limited variants out there. There is overprint for every limited variant made and those extras do sometimes make it into the market instead of being destroyed. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes for more. The Keown cover went for $3,050. Obviously, I was late to the party and that Keown cover is sick. Congrats on the Lashley as that one is sweet as well.
  14. Sorry if this has been posted but this one is limited to one. Pricey but for a good cause. Although, I'm not even sure what Adlard's work is going for these days? Look here...
  15. Not that you asked but it looked better with the belt/scarf behind her (IMO). Still, nice work.
  16. That'll get them moving. I don't think it worked. Still waiting... I take it back (part of it). Just got back part of my subs from ECCC and it's pretty much what others have said - all moderns. I also have to give a shout out to Dre since he looked them over and said which ones were 9.8s. 5 out of 5 NWM SS double sigs - very nice. Still waiting for the BA subs and very happy.
  17. That'll get them moving. I don't think it worked. Still waiting...
  18. Agree with all (and in fact, I sold to Kyle here right when he just joined up). I always say the same thing every time this issue comes up. I've had dozens of successful sales to single-digit-posters (and even members with literally 0 posts). My only unsuccessful transaction here was to someone with 1500 posts who went south and didn't finish a time pay. For me there is little to no correlation between reliability and post count, and in the broader picture I'd be unhappy with excluding newbies who just joined up and are testing the waters. There is obviously risk involved in buying from someone with no references who just joined up. When has that ever not been true? I agree. The number of posts mean nothing. I've had buyers with 3 post pay immediately and a recent buyer (that's been around a while) ask for more time to pay even though he was still actively buying other books (before anyone ask for details - I said no thanks and it was settled). I've found it's better to state your own rules up front (in addition to the board rules). I've also started asking someone with low post counts a lot of questions by pm before agreeing to anything. The probation discussion isn't perfect but I've seen a lot of issues worked out here (it could use a tweak or two), and its a lot better than the system feebay has.
  19. Nowhere men was the hot book for sigs at the show (ECCC). Nate signed away but stephesen was signing five per person at the CBLDF booth. I had a set of five signed (no fast track) and won't see them again till...Christmas?
  20. Interesting how the price goes up but that hand never changes?
  21. I'm surprised no one is selling them here (yet).
  22. I don't know if this was posted but the bidding has started... WW Portland variant
  23. I agree that there should be a firewall...would be more acceptable if they were actually in a different building, but same building, and access to same systems. It's a take it or leave it--I suspect it may create some great dissent for those who wanted CGC for objectivity, but is now tainted because of in house upsells. Speaking of the upsells... BTW, why don't they offer decapsulation services that includes a discount if that book needs to be certified again? that's another easy no brainer. If they could recycle the plastic it would.
  24. Pretty sure the anwser is no. Another reason to buy the graders notes...
