  1. I've always enjoyed the BTS movie making process just as much, if not more to help me further embrace a Feature Movie I liked watching in the theatre or on TV. I greatly admire David Sanderg's candor as well over the past year since last October, thoughtfully keeping us Shazam! Film Fans abreast in his value judgements and insight into his Animator/Film Director mind's eye with his imagining of Captain Marvel and The Marvel Family on the Shazam! Movie. The cast's viral videos during filming were a laugh riot. Looking forward to a Sandberg, Alexandre, Gayden, and Safran audio commentary or better yet, a round table discussion reflecting on their professional and personal experiences working on the whole Shazam! shebang would be an interesting chat to be privy to.
  2. Women, children and furry woodland creatures all love Captain Marvel Jr., Happy Birthday Jackie Boy.
  3. The latest and by far the best movie still yet of Zac Levi as Captain Marvel from Empire Magazine. Man, I dearly want to be a Movie Extra in the next Shazam! sequel. That would be so cool, I'd definitly fly myself to Toronto for an opportunity to do that. Here is the full movie still with a bit more clarity, used for the magazine cover photo. I'm so greatfully thankful the film producers chose to depict Freddy Freeman properly lame in his left leg correctly as he was originally created and not paraplegic as in the New 52 which was a totally inept character reinvention as stupid as the long blond hair.
  4. This is cool. Mary Marvel practicing Taekwondo back round house kicks. For a trained dancer Grace Fulton is quite a showstopper. I'm hoping in the final Shazam! Movie they don't sex up Mary Marvel into a 40-year-old MILF by replacing Grace with that sack of hot nickels Michelle Borth as earlier rumoured.
  5. So you're into red boots too, eh, Sqeggs? She can step on my testicles with those red boots anytime...
  6. To commemorate Tom Tyler's 115th Birthday last week, here are modern day photos of his Adventures of Captain Marvel Republic Pictures film serial wardrobe. Good thing social media didn't exist in the 40's or Internet trolls would have had an intracranial aneurysm dumping on this Captain Marvel suit.
  7. Filmation's Shazam! was my Saturday Morning Cartoon staple followed by Super Friends and Star Trek: The Animated Series. Along with The Bugs Bunny Show; Scooby Doo, Where Are You?; Land of the Lost; and the afternoon CBS Children's Film Festival which is why I enjoy and prefer foreign films to this very day. The original Superman Kirk Alyn with Captain Marvel Jackson Bostwick. Hollywood is so late to the game on this, huge Kudos to Peter Safran's vision we have the Shazam! Movie to finally premiere on theatre screens after 78 years and 8 days waiting since Tom Tyler and Frank Coghlan Jr. starred in the Adventures of Captain Marvel.
  8. Open-access polling tip jars at the Central Perk Café on the Warner Bros. Studio tour. Pretty akamai.
  9. Hollywood's Top 30 Stars Under Age 18 Recognized. Nice kudos for two inherently talented Shazam! Family cast members.
  10. Too, bad. An awful lot of comics from the era contained racist stereotypes, particularly, of course, of Japanese soldiers. For better or worse, it's a part of our pop culture history.
  11. Zac at the London Film & Comic Con with an enthusiatic and aware Shazam! Movie fan who mimicked Grace Fulton's famous photo. Can we have a Hawaii 5-O drum solo... Shigadugadugadugadugaduga, "You're not hardcore, unless you live hardcore..."
  12. All in Color for a Dime by Lupoff & Don Thompson. Like a dealer's free line its the book that got me hooked on comics when first published in 1970. Been chasing the dragon ever since.
  13. Enticing Mr. Tawny Easter eggs frame flashing at :54; :56; :58 & 1:25 in the Shazam! Official Teaser Trailer. Hi, Tawky Tawny, rush chairman. Damn glad to meet you.
  14. Majorly psyched for the Shazam! Movie, no confirmation from today's trailer but I'm still praying DC Films are not turning Mary Marvel into a 40-year-old MILF. You Sir have great taste in art as the cover of Master Comics #23 is also my preeminent favorite Fawcett cover and have a framed poster of it on my wall I admire the art so much it's my Mona Lisa. Talking about missing out on auctions, an original art re-creation of the classic cover by C.C. Beck that once sold in 2008 at Heritage came back up for auction again in 2009. I was working in Europe at the time and didn't know about it until a year after the fact. Would have loved to have this van Gogh on my wall instead of a giclée print.
  15. Interesting article that proposes these comic book promoted war time paper drives is the reason for the scarcity of GA books: Why are Golden Age comics so expensive? Blame Captain Marvel, Jr.!
