Well done!! Movie Comics 2 doesn't appear to have a house ad. Not sure about #1. I didn't realize that so many April issues contained the text ad. I like the text ad in the Detective 26 best since Batman is associated with Detective Comics and Bob Kane's name appears under that ad. Here are the 4 text ads in the order that you identified. Thank you for that information

ok I surrender, back to the subject at hand. I think All Star 4 is woefully under-valued. The 3 is the first meeting where they get together to trade tales of valor but the 4 is the first time they actually performed as a team in a multi-chaptered adventure which became the standard format till the end of the run. It's also a great cover with the Capitol and American flag in the background. A 4.0 recently sold for a paltry $3200.

I don't know if I have one favorite reprint book, but I always get a kick out of all the printing variations with each succeeding reprint. Here's a favorite. 3 reprints and they all look different. The 1990 hardcover reprint was muddy. The 2004 Masterwork version was washed out. The 2009 Omnibus comes closest to the original, at least in terms of sharpness, but the colors are not quite right on some panels and we have a red-haired Torch. Apparently, something about red hair was mentioned in another panel so the Torch was colored with red hair. Not sure of the details anymore. Does anyone know the reason?

Some panels in the 1990 Captain America: The Classic Years slipcase were altered by the restorers. Here's a panel that showed Bucky's anatomy doodled in yellow and a yellow 8 ball drawn on the forehead of the guy holding the gun on Cap. These first editions were recalled and the panels were corrected. Naughty naughty

Silver Age Sub-Mariner comics & appearances

When they gave me the camera, I usually had relatives holding my books. This one was taken around December 1968. -
Never thought of it that way, but you make a great point especially since it starts as #5 which was the continuation of Motion Picture Funnies 1-4 of which 2-4 were never published but the cover proofs exist. Since Motion Picture Funnies #1 was not on the newsstands, a valid if not popular argument can be made for Amazing Man as the first Timely hero.
